This client hired for an emergency situation that involved high assets being transferred out of the country by the client's spouse. We were able to quickly get a court order blocking these transfers. My office worked with the client to successfully to prepare, file and serve the necessary documents. During one client conference I did receive a call from my wife, who had a medical issue, and another from my son, who wanted to let me know that he had just been admitted to college. The client was not charged for these interruptions. I regret that the client was upset. My staff and I worked intensively with the client to prevent the loss of community assets, including many calls and emails. The client did not understand the amount of time required to prepare the p[leadings needed for the necessary court hearings. I have been an attorney for over 30 years and have an excellent staff. The client was not charged for any calls or conferences unrelated to the client's case. All of our work on this case was necessary and reasonable to meet the client's goals.
