I’m sure like many young 20somethings I felt like the universe was on my side. Focus and belief and faith are extremely important when trying to make it through this world that has absolutely no guarantees for us anymore. Especially when one is an artist. After my world came crashing down (like, actu...ally crashing down. Don’t assume because I’m young I have no “real” problems. Taking care of someone who is mentally ill is never easy, especially when “so young”.) I decided to “yolo” and go out with some friends. I needed that escape. I really needed it. Unfortunately, I made a really bad decision. It was a real wake up call. I’ve never even been grounded or had detention let alone arrested. I was heart broken, scared, and –most of all- filled with shame. So much shame. No one talks about DUIs or their consequences. Not really. I don’t think I would have been able to navigate the ridiculous red tape of the DMV and the court without the help of Mr. Tucci, especially since the DA wanted to give me 2 months of jail for speeding (they claimed I was going a certain amount over the speed limit that contradicted what the cops said). Two months. Two. That’s life ruining. Literally. Job, school, relationships, all gone. Getting a DUI is very complicated. From my DUI classes I’ve learned that a lot of people got pretty screwed over. From police exaggerating circumstances on reports to judges refusing to view tape and evening threatening to double punishment just for plea deals, no one is on your side. We’re all human. We’ve all made mistakes. And you’re lying to yourself if you think this won’t happen to you. Honors student, community service, easy going child… it was never on my radar or my family’s that I would be the one to end up in jail, with a record, dealing with system that’s rigged against us (I say this as someone who has also studied criminology). Mr. Tucci works seamlessly in court, and is prompt with replies and explaining the system. And most of all, he doesn’t judge you.

I just reached the one year mark since that dreadful DUI. I chose Mr. Tucci because he came highly recommended from a very good friend. Because of him, I was able to save my job that I had been at for 6 years and I did not get a felony. He was so tenacious and determined that even the judge literally told me that I was fortunate to have Tucci as my representation. I cannot thank him enough for what he did to save me and my reputation. One mistake can literally change your life and if you're ever in the same position, you better hire Tucci.
