Professionals

Everything Dr Schafer & his associates told me happened exactly to plan. The staff were always available and answered my questions thouroughly. Jennifer ( J J) was a delight and ultimately brought me my settlement papers. My case was settled swiftly, I highly recommend their service!

Dr Schaeffer is there when needed

I have had the pleasure of Dr Schaeffer's service for the last 2 years. He has always been available and extremely helpful. He has been skillful in getting several denials of claim reversed and in reversing denials of service such as more therapy and a Job Displacement Voucher. He has delivered on ...all that he promised.

Worse attorney

I hired Dr. Peter Schaefer for my worker's comp claim. At my consultation I had a great impression on him and his staff. E-mails and phones calls were replied to and answered within minutes after. Once I was scheduled for my deposition with the defense attorney I was never told that JJ would be the o...ne handling my case. I spend over an hour with JJ getting prepared for the deposition once the Defense Attorney arrived, she went to go tell him we were ready to start took over 5 minutes speaking with him then she came back to me to tell me that it was better for me to settle my case, I asked the reason why and she told me that if they would offer me so much would I take it and that way we didn't have to continue with the deposition. I was concern about my treatment for my carpal Tunnel and she told me that I can just go to my regular doctor and get treated. She also told me that the amount that they were giving me was good because we might loose my case she never gave me explanations of the reason why. It seemed like if she was just pushing me to get the settlement done. I had many questions and at the end she seemed bothered and told me. " Look if we continue with your case I'm going to be hinest with you it can take up to 3 yrs and we might not even be able to settle for the same amount as now, it will be less so I suggest you take it is better for you to settle right now and just start getting treated by your doctor" I took the settlement un satisfied with it due to no physical therapy for both of my wrist. I called my doctor on Monday and they told me they were not able to see me t all that I had to go back to workers comp since it was a work related injury. I called the lawyers office and explained to them the and situation and they told me that they will have JJ call me back, I received the call from Dr. Peter and he told me that from his understanding I left satisfied with my settlement that because JJ had told him that everything went great and that I just wanted to settled and not continue with the deposition that because I felt uncomfortable. I told him that was a lie that I felt pressured and that it took me almost 2 hours to agree to get the settlement since JJ had said that at the end we might loose my case and gave me no explanations. He told me that he was going to cancel the settlement and that we were going to proceed with the deposition per my request. The following day I seek another lawyers advice and changed lawyers. It seems that at this office all they want is just to close the case with a settlement and not fight for you at all. This was my worse experience ever.

The Workers compensation system is a broken system... it takes so long to get most treatment approved if at all as the system favors the insurance company 85% of the time. We prepare every client for at least an hour when a deposition is to occur...we do so in case it goes forward as scheduled. 4 out of 10 times when the defense attorney arrives to take a clients deposition they call the applicant attorney.. myself of JJ my other attorney, and ask about the prospects for settlement without spending all the money doing the deposition. We would then speak to the client and based upon the discussion we have we either go forward at the clients request or we settle at the clients request. We never force a decision on a client but only offer our opinion and advise. Between JJ and Myself we have over 50 years experience doing Workers compensation. When you decided that you wanted the case over and chose to tell JJ to settle, that was your decision to make. You made that choice not us...When I was told the next day you were not happy with you choice I advised you that I would personally get the settlement tossed in the trash and have your deposition rescheduled. Why you chose to go to another lawyer after that is a shock, but to write such a horrible review is undeserved. I wish you the very best in your workers compensation case, Peter.

Hired and Fired

i hired him because he seemed the one I needed for a head injury at work. He set me up with a 'good friend' of his and months of useless appointments with talk therapy. When I was in extreme pain I called the Dr for help. I was told he had not been paid yet and wouldn't see me. Peter never gave me a ...Dr to see. About a year of his so called service he wanted to settle. I called him crying with extreme pain with pressure in my head, ears, and neck issues and I desperately needed help. After going to the ER I saw him at his office (an hour drive) a few days later, only to hear him belittle my injury and say "I don't believe you. If you don't like it fire me." I would never recommend him for a Work Comp case, much less for a head injury.

Good Morning Patricia..... I am so sorry you did not appreciate all that I tried to do for you. When you fired your prior Attorney Mr Cortright, I jumped right in to help you the best I could. When I sent you to Dr. Lino Valdivia who is an exceptional Neuro-Psychologist it was done with the best of intentions for you. If an insurance company does not want to pay a doctor he has the option of discontinuing treatment forcing us to perhaps find another doctor. Because of the legislation over the past several years many doctors are not taking workers compensation injuries. Many times when someone is in horrible pain the only thing we can do is advise they go to Emergency Room so hopefully the insurance Company will do the right thing the next time and authorize treatment. When in your frustration with the system and I suppose me, I couldn't seem to please you and naturally as you chose to do with your prior attorney also, Mr. Cortright you could fire me. I truly did not deserve the hateful and horrible review you posted on Avvo regarding my services. Does attempting to harm me and my family's livelihood make you feel better ?
