ethical, hard-working, and dedicated to your case

I've known Jeff since law school, and I've referred dozens of cases to him over the years. (He's so in demand that only a lucky few of them were able to get Jeff to take on their cases.) Jeff has about the highest integrity I've seen in an attorney. He's willing to take on large and powerful peopl...e on behalf of a client who has been wronged. He's willing to work crazy hours to ensure that his clients are fully represented. If I'm ever unfortunate enough to need my own attorney, I'd think of Jeff first.

An Exceptional Lawyer

I’m writing this letter to give my deepest gratitude and thanks to not only an awesome lawyer but a great friend. After just our first consultation together I was really excited that I found a lawyer that would fight for me. Jeffrey fought for me and believed in me when no one else would. Words ca...nnot explain the happiness Jeffrey has brought to me and my family. He's brought closure to many negative aspects of my life. I would give him my full recommendation for anyone in need of legal assistance. He was completely professional, knowledgeable, and fought for me/my case until the end. I cannot give enough praise to him and his work. He exceeded my expectations and for that I am grateful.

Great small business attorney

In this day of legal specialists, it is really valuable to have an attorney broad enough to serve as a "personal /small business attorney" without compromising depth. Mr. Cowan is such an attorney. I engaged him initially for a tenant dispute, then used him again for a labor issue, an intellectual ...property issue and a contract issue. He was able to handle each of these on his own, but in all cases 1) told me when he was close to the limits of his expertise and 2) had a tremendous network of specialists he could refer me to. Mr. Cowan is a former litigator but is not litigious--this means he is willing to go to court and knows what legal strategy he will adopt, but views trial as suboptimal. This strategic approach is tremendously valuable in forcing the client to make tough decisions up front (and saving legal expense in the process). Because of the nature of my business, I have worked with a number of attorneys. The only time I felt I needed the specialists was a) a patent filing, and b) designing an ERISA compliant benefit plan.
