I researched this decision for over six hours, narrowing the field down to six collaborative attorneys. I knew that, based on reading tons of reviews, I was looking for an atto...rney that would have my best interest in mind (duh), but also was drawn to ones where folks said the firms were conscientious about their limited funds. What stood out about Ilana's reviews was something to the effect of "she is totally collaborative, until that option is exhausted, and then she goes in and fights hard for you". Thankfully mine never came to that, but I appreciated the nuanced and responsive approach, and we were able to come to a resolution even before any mediation. It's weird to say that I had a wonderful experience with her whole office in my divorce, but it's true! Ilana, her paralegal Maureen, and her fellow attorney Priya were all very professional. Their office is clean, well organized, centrally located just two blocks from the courthouse. I had a divorce with child and an open CPS investigation. It was acrimonious as you can get, mom was destroying as... much as she could on the way out. While the facts of the case were unique (seriously, your mileage may vary) ultimately our case resolved with me being granted sole custody which was absolutely the best case scenario given the facts. I was also able to keep the entirety of my retirement and stock. Ilana, Maureen, and Priya even worked with me on the subsequent child support case and securing records from my own case that I needed to apply for a federal grant towards my child's tuition which was a big help since we had a lot of rebuilding to do. I hope that no one has to go through a difficult separation like I did, doubly so if you have children, but Ilana was absolutely up to the task. You won't be left wanting for legal representation if you hire Ilana.
