I was arrested for family violence when my dad and I got into an argument because my fiancé lost her $10000 engagement ring in Lake Conroe. It was an accident and we were having a rough night and my dad and I got into a shouting match and I stormed off out the door to calm down. When I did, he starte...d to have a cardiac event and my mother called 911. When the ambulance showed up to the house, I asked what was going on and why they were hear? I didn't know at the time that my dad was having a heart problem. Anyway, about that time, a cop showed up for some reason and took me aside and asked me some questions and then detained me. He went inside and got some information from my parents and told them that he wasn't going to take me to jail and that I wasn't under arrest. He said that we were going to follow my dad to the hospital and that he just wanted to be there to make sure everything was fine. The cop came outside of my parents house, got in the vehicle and told me we were going to the hospital to see my dad. Yep... you can guess what happened next. He lied straight to my face and hauled me off to jail and charged me with third degree felony - family violence. Immediately after I got out, I did some research and some contacts I have pointed me in Brian's direction. After my dad and I met with Brian (Yes, my dad was on my side the entire time and begged the prosecutor not to charge me but that didn't matter to the DA), we created a plan of attack and put together an awesome mediation packet to show the judge and the DA what kind of person I am. After 3 court dates and 4.5 months of calling everyday for a potential drug test, Brian gave me the good news that Montgomery county had dropped the charges against me and that my case was officially dismissed! We're currently working on the rest of the expungement process, but up to this point working with Brian has been nothing short of an answered prayer in a time of uncertainty. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of this case and the work that Brian and his team put into defending me from becoming a statistic. I pray that I am never in this situation again but if I ever am, I know who I will call!
