In one word - Fantastic

I am in my late forties and was in a bit of legal trouble for the first time in my life. It is a very stressful time for somebody who is going thru this first time. First the arrest then going through the booking process and finally spending 8-9 hours waiting to be released. Once I got out I started ...my research on what to do to minimize the impact. My charge was failure to ID to a police officer (a class B misdemeanor - lets just say I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and when an officer showed up i panicked and did not want to give my ID in front of people who were being questioned for possession of drugs. Anyway i got a few references of lawyers and started going and meeting the lawyers and also doing internet research on them as well as on my pending charge. Since this was my first offense - i was hopeful that I would qualify for either pretrial intervention program or deferred adjudication with a very slim outside chance of outright dismissal. From my internet research I was able to gather that Mark was an outstanding lawyer and his reviews were excellent but mostly in the area of DWI. All the lawyers I met were setting me up for the first two outcomes mentioned above and nobody wanted to entertain the possibility of outright dismissal. When I met Mark I was instantly impressed. He heard my account of the event, got very candid account of the events out of me by making me feel comfortable. He then gave a very detailed idea of what the approach and strategy he was going to employ. He also let me know that there were a few unknowns (the offense report being one) based on which he will tweak his strategy on game day. I was sold and signed up. On the court day – As per strategy Mark came is very late when all other dockets were done. Being a Friday Mark likes to dress in funky clothes which he calls his fun day clothes. Everybody in the court know this and looks forward to him making an appearance. Having been through a lot of trials most of which he ends up winning he knows all the DA and court staff. He had the best presence of all the lawyer that I saw in the court ( and I had an opportunity to see them all since Mark came at the end). He is also well respected in the court. We went over the offense report and Mark immediately decided that he was going to go for an outright dismissal. I was a still not sure if this will work but he went in to talk to the ADA and then DA and convinced them that it was not worth their time to fight this one. I believe that part of this comes from the fact that everybody know Mark’s reputation for being a tough aggressive lawyer not afraid to go to trial for his clients. I was ecstatic at the outcome whereby not only was the charge dismissed but also I would not have to go through probation for a year or more and then having to wait to get my record sealed or expunged. I am now eligible for immediate filing for expungement proceedings which will remove all traces of my arrest and my court date. Mark was the most expensive of all the lawyers that I talked to but he was worth every penny. When you really need somebody to defend you I recommend you go hire Mark Thiessen. I will keep his contact handy for the rest of my life.

First Offense DWI, won the ALR hearing and dismissal of the charges.

I was pulled over driving home one evening after a game and was subsequently charged with a DWI. A friend of mine referred me to Mark so I called to set up an initial consultation. At the first meeting Mark was friendly and anxious to dive into the details of my case. He was also just as passio...nate about obtaining a dismissal as I was through and including trial, but was also open and forthcoming about what some of my other options were (probation, etc.) in order to take care of this depending on what my needs were. Mark appeared at every single court appearance I was scheduled for, (something that people would assume is standard but trust me, this is not always the case). Unlike some attorneys I've dealt with he was always available, and responded promptly to calls and emails, quick communication was easy and helped tremendously when It came to dealing with this DWI charge. As the process unfolded and facts stemming from my stop and arrest came to light he was professional, and upfront about the pro's and con's of the facts as they pertained to my case and how they limited or helped my case. At my ALR hearing for my driver's license his cross examination led to the administrative judge ruling in my favor, allowing me to keep my drivers license, which was a huge relief. Furthermore, the recorded testimony from this hearing helped directly with obtaining a complete dismissal of the DWI charges against me. This means that I can expunge not only my arrest record, but also my driving record leaving me once again with a clean record. I deal with lawyers on a professional level, as well as having many as friends, and they are not all created equal. Mark's professionalism, and enthusiasm for the work that he does made a difficult and uncomfortable situation a little easier to deal with. The outcome of my case was, without a doubt the best result I could have hoped for, and Mark was instrumental in making that happen.

Awesome DWI Defense Attorney

Mark did an outstanding job from start to finish in my case. After being arrested, I had court 24 hours later. I called Mark the day I was released and he was in court with me the next day. My case was not an easy one due to what was on my record previously. To begin with I ended up in Felony cou...rt when I should have been in a lesser court. Mark got that fixed immediately and had my case assigned to the proper court. Secondly, the arresting officer in the case convinced me to blow at the station. I blew a 0.18. When I heard the number that night I knew I had screwed up. That being said, Mark took my case from Felony court with a breath sample of 0.18 and got my case completely DISMISSED. Nothing on my record at all. Mark was prompt in court and responsive to all my calls and emails. He made the whole situation very simple and told me exactly what I needed to do and gave perfect advice throughout the process. I would recommend Mark for any defense needs you may have.

Case Dismissed!

You probably came across this site the same way I did, by frantically searching for someone who will help you or your loved one out of an unfortunate circumstance. You found the person that will do just that. We originally hired a different lawyer who we knew of but after a couple of months it beca...me clear that he did not specialize in DWI cases. After some research and several phone calls we found Mark Thiessen. After the first telephone conversation with Mark, my husband said “this is the guy I want representing me”. He was even more convinced after we met Mark in his office. My husband’s English is not great and I asked him if he was sure that he didn’t want a Spanish speaking attorney. He said “no”. If you happen to be going through this it is a frustrating experience. You’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty but it feels more like you’re guilty until you can prove yourself innocent or creatively weasel your way out of it. It is a game and you want the best player on your team, Mark is that player. He knows the law, he knows the ins and outs of the breathalyzer machine, he knows the people in the court room, he was very dedicated to helping us and he listened to what we had to say. He never promised us a dismissal, after all, this was my husband’s second DWI (the first one was in 1999), and even though he looked great on the video during the field sobriety test his breath test was .13, but that is exactly what we got MOTION TO DISMISS! Thank you Mark for all you did, we are so grateful.

Motivation and Dedication

I was pulled over on my way home on January 23, 2011 for running a red light. I had a few drinks earlier that night which I admitted to. I was then arrested and charged with a DWI. At the station I was given a field sobriety test that was videotaped. Also I was given a breath test using the intoxilyz...er 5000. I blew a .169 and .172 (that’s over twice the legal limit). After plenty of research I found Mark Thiessen's name coming up more and more often. I went for a consultation and explained to him my story. I explained to Mr. Thiessen that my life and career depended solely on this judgment. After hearing that I was a disabled veteran, due to an injury that occurred while I was in Iraq, he stood up and shook my hand stating "You Fought For Me, Now Let Me Fight For You". Here it is December 6, 2011 and its my turn to write a review for Mr. Thiessen. I just finished my trial today. It was a long drawn out fight. The DA wouldn't throughout the case even though Mr.Thiessen showed them every hole in their case. The DA and the judge were completely against us, but Mark Thiessen only got more pissed off. Every witness that came to the stand was ripped apart by Mr. Thiessen. Not one moment went by that I saw him sweat. Then the moment came when he was about to tear their case apart. The DA ran to the judge with his tail between his legs and asked for a dismissal. They saw ahead of time Mr. Thiessen’s plan to shred their case and backed down. If it wasn’t for Mr.Thiessen's motivation and dedication to my case, I would have never won this case. He is not like normal lawyers. The first day he gave his cell number to call anytime, and while we were at the courthouse other lawyers wait in line to ask him a question in reference to their cases. Everywhere he went people (other lawyers) talk about him and how awesome he is in court. When leaving his office today I asked him if he remembered our first meeting (consultation) when I told him what kind of lawyer I’m looking for. I was looking for a lawyer that I needed to take to court with a chain and collar to hold him back from tearing the prosecutor apart. Now that I think about it, if I ever go to court with him again I’m bringing a bigger chain.
