Incomplete service

I was a client of attorney Lester Reed back on October2015. I hired him to handle my modification case. He filed a incomplete court papework in my behalf and the district judge dissmissed my case cause of that. He make remarks of dissappear one month later when I hired his services. At this time my m...odification case is dissmissed and I losse all my saving money cause of that.

Another anonymous source. I have never in my career filed incomplete paperwork. If a judge dismisses a case there are many reasons. Either, the case brought before the court lack merit and there was not enough evidence to prove the case, or simply, there were no grounds. When hired by a litigant to prosecute their case, I intake the client and take extra special care to gather as much information as possible prior to taking that case. Sometimes, however, after being hired, I often learn that the client may have 'embellished' the potential evidence and the facts presented to me at intake. Attorneys rely heavily on the honesty and candor of the client. Secondly pertaining to 'incomplete court paperwork', again, without knowing what client this is, I will say I have no recollection of any time in my career where I did not file necessary documents to represent my clients. I have, however, encountered clients who wanted something filed that violated my rules of ethics and professionalism which could lead to sanctions and fines on my part as well as on the part of my client. When a client asks me to file something I am not comfortable with, they may feel as though I am not protecting their interests, but quite the opposite. I am keeping them out of hot water. With every client a contract is signed that NO result is promised or warrantied. I represent my clients to be absolute best of my ability. But, I will not dishonor myself or this system by doing anything underhanded or unethical and risk losing a job that I have worked terribly hard to gain. DO NOT USE

Such a disappointment. He was paid and we had to hire another attorney to complete our case.

Anonymous post. Again, to whomever posted this, if you would like to call my office and relay to me your dissatisfaction, I would be interested in understanding the facts surrounding the need to hire someone else. Oftentimes, both attorneys and clients will choose to part ways for many reasons. I have 'fired' clients and clients have 'fired' me. I know of no attorney, ever, who has not been replaced at one time or other. The reasons are plentiful. Sometimes, personalities are not compatible, the attorney is not willing to do certain things that may be unprofessional or unethical, or simply, the client will have higher expectations than an attorney can possibly meet. Or, honestly, the attorney just did a bad job. Without knowing who would post a review making these comments it is difficult to remedy the issue. I always strive to provide excellent legal representation to all my clients while maintaining the highest level of integrity. - Lester K. Reed

Don't believe the hype

I hired him to handle a modification, which he assigned to his associate attorney. The associate blew through my retainer very quickly and then started asking for more money. When I asked the associate to send me a detailed statement, he would say he was sending it but never did. When I brought th...e matter to Mr. Reed's attention, he also gave me lip service but never followed through. As far as legal representation goes, if I could go back I would NOT hire Lester Reed or anyone associated with his firm.

Anytime an 'anonymous' source writes a review I am very skeptical. In my career I have never had a filing dispute with the State Bar. I have a reputation of NOT billing for each and every 'nickel and dime' task that are needed to complete a case. I had associate attorneys in an effort to ensure that each client is worthy of one-on-one attention and my having enough attorneys to meet the needs of my clients is important to me. What's more, 'blowing through the retainer' is really easy to do when I charge relatively little to begin with. I pride myself of NOT making legal services cost prohibitive for the client. Many things will blow through a retainer: excessive phone calls, excessive and often unnecessary meetings, and a client requesting that we 'bulldog' the opposing party. Because I do not know who made this review, I cannot say which applies to you. However, I am sorry you feel as though my office let you down. If you would like to call my office at any time at 817-810-9925, I am happy to review your invoice and payment to see if there are any discrepancies. Thank you for your candor and for the opportunity to serve you. - Lester K. Reed, Attorney and Law.

Overrated

I hired Mr Reed for a child custody battle, at first he seemed ready to help but in the end I was highly disappointed. He assured me the papers written by my ex's attorney were correct but I found mistakes multiple times and realized he had never reviewed them for corrections. I will now have to get ...a modification for corrections. How he has the ratings he does baffles me.

I am saddened to know that I may have let a client down. An anonymous review on this site is problematic when at no time has anyone called my office to alert me that there was a problem with an order I reviewed. I take time to carefully review each order and advise my clients accordingly. However, if whoever posted this review, truly has an issue with my work and the order referenced in this review, and if there was an oversight and mistake on my part, I am glad to modify the order for free if legal grounds exist to do so. I am a man of my word and anyone who hires me knows this. If there was a mistake in the review process, I will make good on it. I, and my staff, strive to provide the very best possible representation to our clients. While I am not perfect, I have always held my word that I will correct my errors and this is no different. If a modification is truly necessary, I will provide my legal services to this client free of charge if there was a mistake committed on the part of this office. I will never let a mistake tarnish my professional reputation that I have worked hard to earn.
