I had an experience where I drove after taking an ambien. I had just had major surgery and had been in the hospital, and my doctor gave me the medication to help get my sleep regulated again. I started sleep walking the first night, and the second night I walked out of my house and drove down the str...eet. Let me start off by saying i love reading John reviews because they gave me hope in my current case. Im literally crying while typing this review. I got charged with a DWI 3rd which is a Felony. My BAC was .10 barely over legal limit. I had a motorcycle accident. Someone said i hit them, but i believ...e they cut me off. I dont remember much about that night because I was knocked unconscious. Well 1 year later i was indicted on the felony. I hired John Geoffredi. From the moment you walk into the office you know you've hired the right guy. You will see when you get there. So now here we go going to court every month to try and plea bargain. They were offering 10 years probation. I said no way. I refused to be a convicted felon. You only get so many court settings during the initial phase otherwise you need to pay extra for trial. From the beginning i asked John if he thought i could get this reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor and he said maybe, maybe not. Not sure. No one knows what the prosecutor will do. So after my 2nd court setting the prosecutor still offering 10 years probation. They were not budging. John said Nic, if you have money to set it for trial, then i may can get this dismissed under speedy trial laws. If not dismissed, then there are other good things that could happen by setting it for trial. Like the prosecutor could reduced it to Misdemeanor, or another big case could come up and they could drop the charges, they have so many other cases and really dont try many felony DWIs in trial. Felony prosecutors have not tried DWI cases in trial for long time, unlike misdemeanor prosecutors who take misdeamenor DWI cases to trial all the time. So i paid extra for trial after seeing the court was not going to budge. I put pressure on them to take it trial. John says now you know if we take it trial we only have like 20% chance of winning...he broke down different percentages of case getting dismissed, reduced, being found guilty/not guilty,etc. I was okay with everything. I understood. He will not sugar coat anything. He will be upfront. By him specializing in DUI/DWI i knew i was in good hands. Well shortly after setting it for trial like a month later, the court emailed John and offered to reduce it to a misdemeanor which is what i wanted so its a win for me. Im not a convicted felon.
