My story is similar to Doug’s. I actually had a male attorney before I meet Beverly. Ironically, I got this attorney’s name and number through a Fathers for Equal Rights group. Our first mediation, he basically told me I should accept everything she was asking for, which was sole custody and quite... a bit of back child support that I didn’t feel I owed. I am glad I had the frame of mind to know that what he told me was wrong, I asked him if he was working for me or her and walked out. Shortly after that I met Beverly through a friend/co-work. I’ll tell you what, she has been a blessing. My ex-wife was a stripper and had a lot of money at her disposal at the time. I worked a knuckle busting job to pay child support and keep health insurance on the kids. I’m not complaining about the work because I have always worked hard but the point is I didn’t have any disposable income to pay for an attorney. After an interview and heart to heart about my situation and my kids, Beverly took my case and worked with me on payments that I could afford. Before I met Beverly I felt that I would never be treated fairly in a family court of law, she changed this view for me. Beverly is very knowledgeable. She would spout off legal codes and the other attorney would have to start flipping through a book to try to find it. There was no competition. I knew when I walked in the court room with her that I would be taken care of to the best of her abilities and within the law. I never felt railroaded by the courts again. It has taken years and a lot of ups and downs but the most important thing is that I received residential custody of both of my children. I picked my kids up 10 years ago and have had them ever since. Beverly has been a God send. I don’t think I would have gotten the kids without her. Beverly went out of her way to make sure I knew that she was not only my attorney but a friend that truly cared about my family and I. One last note, Beverly is not a revenge attorney. She is a great attorney that works within the law and puts the well being of the children first.
