Denise is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to dealing with attorneys. I knew I was going to be in good hands after my 1 hour initial consultation with her. After I retained her (a day after my consult) she sent me a lengthy email of everything we had discussed in our call. I was so impressed...! She's the only attorney that took the time to listen to all of my concerns. The other attorneys I consulted with didn't seem genuine and rushed to get off the phone with me. I'm so glad I found Denise. She basically handled the entire case on her own. My ex-husband's attorney was not the best to deal with. Denise is meticulous and exceptional! I felt as if I was her only client because of how fast she would respond to my emails/calls. I felt like I was priority and let me tell you it made me feel appreciated. I am an attorney and I was referred to Denise by another attorney. There are my good practitioners in the area of family law. However, it is also a minefield of attorneys who are happy to prolong litigation until both sides have spent all their money. Denise is definitely not one of the ab...ove. Her billing rate is fair and more importantly she will advise you as to whether or not something should be prioritized. She then advised me as to the estimated cost of the action. I watched my ex's attorney happily pursue whatever she wanted until she ran out of money and then they were finished. Denise on the other hand helped me to prioritize what we went to court on. This strategy was immensely wise on her part because it allowed me to save my money for the child custody fight, rather than go back and forth about possessions. By the time we got to this part of the proceedings, my ex had spent all of her money and she rolled over on custody. I specifically avoided the large law firms because they will bill you for everyone's time: secretary, paralegal, lawyer, and the aunt they keep in the closet to bill time to. Denise, only billed me for the time she spent working on my case. Her bills were certainly fair and reasonable. Personally, I can't speak highly enough of Denise. She was attentive and on the ball. She made me feel like I was her only client and devoted time when needed. Often working late into the night because I was late on my replies to her. She is technically savvy and we were able to collaborate on the case without me having to drive to her office or meet face to face. Divorces are stressful and awful, Denise really reduced all of this and allowed me to focus on the matter. If you go with her remember a couple things 1. Listen to what she says as she is usually right on. You may want to fight about something else. If she tells you to focus on something different listen to her. Something came up in my case that she was on from the very beginning. I am glad I listened. 2. Not everything is worth fighting for. Before you proceed, ask Denise if it is worth it. 3. Communicate with her when she needs the documentation she is asking for. Again, I can't speak highly enough of Denise. My outcome was in line with how I thought it would be. The judge even commented on how quickly the case was resolved. A year in divorce court seems overly long for an 18 month marriage, however, this was lightening quick in Cook. Divorce is never easy and mostly ugly. Do yourself a favor and go with Denise. I'll follow her advise on a prenup next time, but if I had to do it again, I would not hesitate to pick up the phone.

I found Denise quite by accident when I was looking for a qualified divorce attorney. She listened, understood, and guided me through the process from beginning to end. The entire ordeal became quite ugly and Diane's expertise and "out of the box" thinking allowed the divorce to move as quickly and... painlessly as possible.
