One of the strangest cases I have ever worked on. The client was not the strange part. It was the landlord. They refused to respond to my letters, calls and every back-door method of communication that we tried. So, we withhold the rent. They still refused to engage. Eventually, the residence was sold with no demand for the rent that was withheld. My client got to keep the withhold and that resolved the matter.
