Bad Experience

Absolute worst lawyer ever! His prices are about $500 above average ( not including trial cost). If you try to ask him anything about your case or any information he is extremely short and gives you promises that he has no idea if he can keep . After paying him $2,000 and the court case approaching I... decided based off how he presents himself in the court room that no matter the cost I would get a new lawyer!! So I fired Johnathan and got a new lawyer. Next thing I know I AM BEING told by Johnathan Jones that he would tell the Judge on me and good luck with my case. Which I do admit i could have used better wording than scumbag. But to threaten to tell the judge on you after hes been paid $2,000 for nothing is exactly the reason he was FIRED!!! BEWARE there are many great lawyers that do not use "commercial" marketing with high prices and out of line service!! Oh and by the way CASE DISMISSED W/ NEW LAWYER!!!!

Not worth your money

Jonathan ruined my case from prematurely insisting that I wave my preliminary, never ever wave your preliminary never, now I know, to having me show up late to court dates, lying, never answering my calls, only meeting with me just 4 days before trial to lying about filing motions. He's the absolute... worst. Do not hire this man if you want to beat your case. He didn't care about my case nor what was at stake he just wanted my money. He never did any footwork to gather witnesses, motions nothing. He started off as if he cared, compassionate and concerned but once the case got to rolling he was simply uninterested. He refused to give me a break down on the charges for the money I gave him he refused to refund me after ruining my case.

The best Lawyer

Best money Spent! He answered all my questions, and was very friendly to me. He didn't treat me like a sub human being. He is a true friend, and not a Walmart greedy lawyer. I would recommend him to friends, and family. You want your life back? Hire Mr. Jones!

DO NOT HIRE. Worst lawyer in Michigan, should be DISBARRED.

He took my wife case, which was a serious charge. He lied since day one, so that he will continue to get payments. He would never answer calls. Case went on for 8 months, he seen her one time, which was the first time he met her and stay for 5 minutes and left. Therefore he doesn't know anything abou...t her or her life story. He would forget court dates, he was always about 45 minutes late to court. He also lied to her and her family about the time she was facing, which end up being several years more, because of his lies. He was paid thousands of dollars and did nothing but lie. He's a thief, he's crooked, the worst lawyer ever. Had to fire him at the last minute. Never hire this man.

I am sorry you were unhappy. It is always hard when a clients family faces the prospect of a loved one going to jail for any length of time. I understand that after almost 24 years of practice there will be a unhappy client or family member in the type of law I practice, but it is still disappointing. . Michigan ethics rules and professionalism prevent me from defending myself by discussing the facts of this client’s case. But I do feel it is important to note that all decisions regarding this client’s case were made with her full knowledge and consent. I strive to represent my clients to the highest standard and in a manner which leaves them satisfied with my efforts. .The great majority of my clients and colleagues would strongly disagree with you. I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Jonathan was horrible!

Awful attorney! I hired him for a case with university police and he was great and very charismatic until I paid him... He took my money, didn't go over even a slight detail of the case with me, ended up getting a bond and warrant out for my arrest due to his negligence, and passed my case off to the... public defender in the courtroom. That's right, he didn't even stay for the hearing. Long story: I contacted Jonathan by phone and explained my situation. He seemed confident in winning and gave me his price of $1400 so I told him I'd think about. He texted me two days later and I told him it was too high and I respectfully declined. He was very persistent and offered at $1200 if I came in that day (should've realized he was desperate and greedy). I didn't respond so he kept texting/calling and I eventually decided to hire him the next day. I came into his office and he was very talkative, but barely let me get a word in. He was making comments, trying to relate to me. I realize now that he was playing me, just trying to get my credit card info. I paid and gave him my ticket. He said he'd take care of everything, likely get the case thrown out or just pay a minimal fee, and I probably wouldn't need to show up in court. Before leaving I asked if I'm just supposed to wait until I hear from him or if there was anything else I needed to do. He said to contact him as soon as I get anything in the mail. Well four weeks later I got a notice in the mail that there was both a bench warrant out for me as well as a bond because I missed my court date. I called Jonathan and he didn't even remember my case. He couldn't find my name in his files! Finally he figured out who I was and said he take care of it. Obviously I wasn't confident in him and ended up calling the court myself. The court put me on hold for three hours before I got through to someone, only to be told that there was still a warrant. Jonathan claims he asked for a new court date, paid the bond, and had the warrant removed. This was when he stopped responding to phone calls altogether - only texts here on out. I called the courthouse once a week for the next month just to check on the status and see if there was a court date yet. This took several hours each day, which should've been avoided by hiring an attorney who could just stop in to fix things while he was at the court every day. Three months later I finally got a preliminary court date for a month away. Jonathan didn't go over anything with me and just says to show up. I ask what time and he said get there an hour early. I got there an hour before my hearing and he got there 45 minutes after the scheduled hearing. I was sitting in the court house thinking he's not going to show and even the bailiff asks me to call my attorney using the court house phone (no cell phones allowed). Of course, no response from Jonathan because he only responds with texts. He finally showed up and literally spent just over 5 minutes talking to the clerk and gave me the date of my hearing and left. My hearing ended up being four months later and I tried to ask him a couple weeks before the hearing if we could meet to go over my case. He completely ignored me until the day before the hearing when I asked what time he'd be there, just to confirm he would actually show up. He told me he'd be there 30 minute before the hearing and to be there early as well. He showed up 15 minutes after the scheduled hearing and asked if I saw the plaintiff anywhere. I said no and he and went to talk to the public defender, pointed at me, then said he was going to the bathroom and the public defender would take over. I stepped out of the court room and saw Jonathan leaving the bathroom and taking the elevators out of the courthouse. I immediately called him and when he didn't answer I realized I would never hear from him again. Looking back, I believe Jonathan knew the university police wouldn't show up to court. He knew everyone in the cour
