Best Attorney for Redstone Arsenal

He really cares about his clients. He listens to what you have to say and explains things thoroughly and makes it easy to understand. If he says he’s going to do something he will. He told me that he was going to get my case dismissed but I had my doubts because of the charge. But he actually got th...e prosecutor to drop the case. I could not be any more thankful for the excellent work he provided. I would recommend him to anyone.

Best divorce lawyer around

Outstanding Attorney in Family and Military Law

Unfortunately, I'm experiencing a late in life divorce...with a young child and a military disability pension. I'm not from the area, and had no knowledge of the attorneys that practice in this area. This led me to several attorney's...purely out of random selection. The first firm, I found out...had... no experience in military disability pensions. The second firm I tried, had a person with the proper credentials and experience for my unique situation...but, she had more cases than she could manage, at the time. BUT, she pointed me to Mitchell Howie. Mitchell has been a blessing to me. He's a former Air Force JAG and still serves as a Reservist. He's extremely knowledgeable in Military Law and Family Law...I understand he is also an expert in some other areas of the law. He's passionate in representing his clients...and a "straight shooter". He's bright, energetic and dedicated. He actually called me back for my first phone consultation, while his office was closed over the New year's Holiday. Mitchell dutifully serves not just the U.S.A., but it's people, too.

Not many people would have taken a case like mine. An ugly domestic dispute with an ex-girlfriend had left me facing some serious criminal charges. I was clearly in the wrong and had no excuse. I knew the details surrounding my arrest would've put off most lawyers, but I was honest about my mistak...es. Mr. Howie quickly recognized this and worked with several other lawyers to remedy my situation via the Pretrial Intervention Program. This is something that is still relatively new in the state of Alabama, but Mr. Howie's knowledge of the program proved to be invaluable. Ultimately, he was able to get my charges dismissed with prejudice. This was more than I could've hoped for. Mr. Howie was calm and polite in his explanation of what I needed to do to complete the program. He kept me in the loop on any court proceedings and was on time for every court date we had to make. Most importantly, he reassured me on several occasions that I would make it out of the ordeal in one piece. What impressed me the most about Mr. Howie was that throughout my case he had also been dealing with a very stressful health situation regarding his young daughter. However, not once did he give up on my case, divide his attention away from it, nor neglect it. He showed diligence throughout the entire process, never appearing distracted, despite how stressful the time must have been for him and his family. This earned my deep respect for the man. Lawyers can have dozens of years of experience, a handful of diplomas and awards, or even faithfully serve our military. But by and far the most important credential for one to have is empathy. This is what ranks Mr. Howie as among the best legal advisors in the state of Alabama. Mitchell J. Howie has a true and tangible desire to help people, something that was apparent to me from start to finish. He reminded me that it is not the mistakes we make that define who we are. It is what we do after them--the steps we take to make up for our failings--that matter the most in our lives.

Lawyer Review

Mr. Mitchell was an excellent Lawyer. We were out of state clients from Michigan, which made the situation worse. He represented us from out of state as though we where right next door! Excellent communication skills! Mr. Mitchell was always very timely and responsive. He even contacted m...e while he was away serving his country in the Military. Always kept us abreast of court dates, delays, changes etc. Kudos to his support staff also, he made sure they provided timely turnaround on meetings, requirements and deadlines, allowing us notice to adjust our travel plans from MI. Very Patient! Very clam demeanor, which I needed as I was very distraught and had a lot of questions and concerns. Very Knowledgeable! He repeatedly explained things in a way I could understand as I frequently asked the same questions, out of nervousness, frustration and lack of knowledge myself. Mr. Mitchell kept us on the right path to allow us to make the best decision for our son. We are very grateful that you took our case and represented us well from out of state allowing my son another chance to move on in his life. Thank you Mr. Mitchell for all you did for us!
