Don't say I didn't warn you!!

The title should say it all. Confidentiality ends at your atty. Not her secretary.. 1st and foremost... She doesn't even have a business card or personal email address!!! All of her staff can see all of your private info!!!! This woman is dishonest - to the point where she has been suspende...d by the bar. She tricked both myself and my ex into litigation by calling my ex and catching her off guard. Batts office asked to see a date for mediation, my ex said she wanted an atty and Batts used that as a refusal and filed with the court. The first of many dubious practices. Her filing looked like a 6th grader drafted it. Missing evidence, incorrect dates, other evidence was "cut off" only showing part of documents. Ms Batts then accused me of lying to her, after I put it all on paper and handed it to her!!! I could go on.. This woman is a crook and a bad attorney. If you read this and then hire her you deserve what she does to you. Always remember. She has never even met your kids. They only exist on paper to her and it shows in her work. Best of luck and I hope this helped you.

Amazing attorney and firm!! The best!

I can't say enough amazing things about Lisa Batts and her firm. As a divorcee with three minor children and an ex-husband who made the experience as difficult as possible, I always felt safe, secure, completely protected, up to date on all information, and very respectfully handled (even when I felt... like I was going crazy). Every person in this office is amazing, and Lisa Batts is not only thorough, well-prepared, honest and upfront, and understanding of the chaos, but has a heart of gold and makes you feel like a person who is being provided with everything you need at all times. Definitely worth every penny!...I would give ten stars if I could.

Best Attorney in the Treasure Coast

Lisa Batts is such a wonderful attorney. She is extremely knowledgeable and very professional. She helped me in my child custody case and fought very hard for me. From the moment I consulted with her she made me feel very comfortable and her staff was very nice and helpful. I would recommend Lisa... to anyone who wants a great lawyer.

Unprofessional

PSA: if you’re in Stuart and in need of an attorney do not, I repeat, do not use L. Lisa Batts from Stuart Law Group, P.A. in downtown Stuart, FL. Dealing with her was a very frustrating learning experience I do not wish on any other person. During the entire year I spoke with my attorney 3 whole tim...es, which includes the first phone call when I retained her. She never returned phone calls and I had to send most emails twice before I would get a response. However, the most frustrating was discovering her dishonesty over what the $1500 retainer fee included. I asked for two tasks to be done. She quoted a fee. She never broke that down into two fees. MY understanding was one retainer fee for both tasks. Both minor tasks. However, in the letter confirming the retainer (after I paid) she only mentioned the first task and not the second. Being the very trusting person I am I didn’t notice nor doubt that she would also complete the second task. I have learned a very valuable lesson as now that the first task is done she has asked for an addition $1,100 for the second. I am upset, discouraged, and annoyed. Additionally, today when I showed up for court she walked into the room, asked if I was me (we had never met in person) and then sat and never spoke to me again. Didn’t explain what would happen at the hearing. Nothing. She performed well in the hearing. When it was over she did not look my way once, shake my hand, or anything. I left without so much as a goodbye or nice doing business with you. Amazing. I am huge about giving kuddos when a job is well done. I don’t usually give bad reviews. If I’m unhappy I won’t say much and just go about my way. But this was too much to keep to myself. And please, share with others. I’ll be posting this review on other sites as well. This was unacceptable business practice after the amount of money I paid.

Best Family Lawyer on the Treasure Coast!!!

I just finished an exhausting 3-year modification lawsuit, and Lisa was amazing!!!! My ex and his family have money, while I do not have money. My ex is always suing me, so the cost of never-ending court fees was scary to me. I felt like my ex and his family were just trying to financially bully m...e and wear me down. They knew they could out-spend me, and they did. I just think it didn’t look the way they thought it would look. Not only did they have to pay a fortune for their case ($80-$100K), they had to pay for most of mine. My ex was trying to use every trick in the book, and Lisa was prepared for him and his attorney every time. She kept her argument legal and professional and kept the emotion out of it. As a result, Lisa was able to poke holes in just about everything he tried to get me on. While his attorney just slung a bunch of mud on the wall, she was able to use legal precedents to establish the validity of our position. I walked away from the final hearing with my dignity and control of my life again. There were no modifications to the final decree, except an increase in child support. I no longer live in fear of my ex and his family and the never-ending lawsuits that I could be facing for the next 8 years, when my daughter turns 18. When you need someone to help you walk through the messy world of family law, look no further than Lisa Batts. Her fees are beyond reasonable, she truly cares about your case, and has sound legal advice. This is in response to the person who mentioned Lisa’s license being suspended in 2013. I was with Lisa during the time her license was suspended in 2013, and she referred me to a very capable attorney. Her suspension had nothing to do with anything unethical that had happened. It was due to a technicality in the way the Florida Bar requires you to run your office, from a business standpoint. She had an office manager that was handling office management and there were a few things that got missed when this person was out of the office for being sick.
