Extremely Satisfied Client

My overall experience with the Ozment Law Firm was very professional and business. Filing Bankruptcy is not the norm for most people. But, like me, I had to muster up the courage to get my financial life in order. Drake Ozment's staff was incredibly helpful and made the whole process pretty much st...ress free. If I had a question, I asked and they answered. If they didn't know the answer, the found it. I highly recommend this law firm to anyone.

Super Fast Sale on my Home

I am so pleased with the office of Ozment Merrill Realty Group. They listed my home and it was sold in just 1 week. I highly recommend this office.

Less than helpful considering I was an existing client

My ex-husband and I retained the services of Mr. Ozment in 2009. We are still currently in active bankruptcy. I had contacted his office in the past year or so because of an ongoing investigation I am pursuing invloving the foreclosure process practiced by Well Fargo. Since Mr. Ozment was handling... our bankruptcy, i figured he may be able to help with the issues I had with WFHM since he claimed to handle foreclosures as well. I made an appointment to speak with him and was kept waiting for quite some time. First I was told he was out sick, then I was told he was in court. I was then greeted by a young attorney who had no clue what i was asking or referring to. He was not very helpful. I left very disappointed that I had taken time off work for nothing. I then proceeded to make another appointment and insisted it be with Mr. Ozment. Well, that meeting was not any better. I asked my questions and got nothing back except for a very rude and short response that he is only handling my bankruptcy and if i wanted my foreclosure handled it would be about a $400 month fee to stay in my home. That is not what I even was there for. I was under the impression that I had made it clear that I was looking for a consultation in reference to the matter at hand with foreclosure proceedings and the legalities around them. I had mentioned to Mr. Ozment that I had filed a complaint wih the OCC and I was referred to the Independent Foreclosure Review. He basically laughed and looked at me as if I was ignorant and stated that this "Independent Foreclosure Review" was a scam and there was nothing he can do. As I exited his office I just had to laugh myself when I read what his office door read, "Real Estate Law, Foreclosures, & Bankruptcy. Since that visit the whole country is aware of the large settlement that was reached naming Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and several other banks for wrongful practices involving mortgages. The law suit was brought on by the OCC (Office of the Comptroller of Currency). It is the federal agency that regulates all financial institutions. The same agency I mentioned to Ozment at my meeting. The one he thought did not exist. How can someone who handles mortgages and forecloures not know who the governing body for financial institutions is? I definitely would not recommend Ozment. I just hope that when my 5 years are completed that all is truly taken care of. Because I am not looking forward to having to meet with this individual again.

WORST ATTORNEY EVER

Drake Ozment filed my bankruptcy in 2008. I paid it off and it was discharged in 4/13. Shortly after, I received 5 certified letters from the IRS stating that I owed them over 15K from previous years. I made an appointment and was seated with a junior attorney, Mathew something, that tried to explain... this. He told me years 2005-2007 were included but three previous years were not and that the IRS should have discharged those years. First he told me “this never happens”. Then he told me “99% of the time this doesn’t happen”. Then he told me the IRS informed them 1½ yrs ago they were not going to discharge for those years. I was never given this information. I was informed by an IRS rep that they always do this. This is happening to me and this junior attorney wanted to charge me $500 to do an installment plan with the IRS. I didn’t even get to talk to Drake Ozment himself for him to explain why this wasn’t done correctly. I would’ve had no problem paying more over the last 5 years so I could be done with it now. I can do my own installment plan, but for the past 5 years and until I pay this off, interest has been/will be accruing. I had no idea this was happening. In my opinion, this was pure negligence on the part of Drake Ozment for two reasons. He should have told me to wait until the returns were filed and accepted and should have made sure all years were included or they would definitely be discharged. I paid this man $3000 and put my trust in him to help me through this, but due to this extreme negligence, I would absolutely NOT recommend this attorney to anyone.
