I couldn't be happier with the results I received from having Attorney Richard Hornsby represent me. I was a high profile case, with serious charges; 1st Degree Arson being one of them. My family and I contacted Mr. Hornsby after my original attorney of one year had been suspended. With my case being... an older one (2017) we were now approaching 2019, and we were being pushed to wrap things up. In the amount of time Richard had to defend my case, he worked wonders. More had been done in the six months or so that he had taken over, practically starting from scratch, than the whole previous year. In the end, I was sentenced to 366 days DOC, serving just over a month in prison with credit from county jail, and released on supervision which included Community Control (2 yrs) followed by Probation (5 yrs) both with early termination. In my eyes, as well as my family's, this was the greatest outcome we could have hoped for, seeing that I was facing 4 to 30 years in prison. God forbid I ever need a defense attorney again, I wouldn't think twice about calling Attorney Hornsby, he's great at what he does, very honest and upfront - never sugarcoating any aspect of your case, which I appreciate more than anything.

In a panic for representation I contacted 11 attorney offices. Richard Hornsby was the first to call me back--on New Year's Day! I briefly explained my situation and he briefly replied with an action plan. I only heard back from 3 other law offices but no attorneys themselves. I solicited advice ...on what to look for in an attorney as I've never had the need for a criminal attorney before. I was finally directed to ask each attorney what he or she would do for me. The other law offices only spoke in hypotheticals. Then it hit me that I wasn't hiring a best friend or a sympathetic ear--I needed somebody knowledgeable in the law that would execute on my behalf. And that is my advice to anybody in a similar need. Look at his track record and ask him what he will do for you. My case was dismissed as he had predicted, and we never had to go to any contingency plans. I am very pleased and all the other calls to other offices were simply a waste of time.

Attorney Hornsby represented me in a jury trial. If you are looking for someone to hold you hand and encourage you throughout the process, go hire a therapist. He will not be your friend but will represent you like few can do. He knows the law and will get you the best possible result. My case ...went to trial. He took command in the court room. He was never lost in his notes. He knew exactly what he was doing and could refer to documents without any hesitation. He crucified the prosecutor! An acquittal was realized. My previous profession required me to analyze the speaking ability of individuals that we might hire. I know speaking talent when I see it. Both his opening and closing statements were punctuated with appropriate illustrations. In fact in the closing statement he was actually on the floor giving the jury an animated picture of why the charge was ridiculous. He even dropped his phone on the courtroom floor to illustrate a point. (I hope his phone was not damaged). His statements ran the range of emotions and most importantly connected with the jury because he came across as genuine. The prosecutor came across as a robot. I hope that I never need another lawyer the rest of my life. But if I lived in Central Florida, he is the only lawyer that I would consider.
