Great experience, no stress! I never even had to meet face to face, or even make an appearance in court. I was pleased that I just had to pay a flat fee negotiated on day one and didn't have to deal with any BS. He was very honest and straight forward with me and I was amazed that when I called his o...ffice I had no wait time and always spoke solely to him directly from day one. Attorney Richard Hornsby is an excellent lawyer and counselor. He handled my matter with prompt, decisive attention and set me at ease that he was working with my best interests at heart. Armed with the law he was prepared immediately to have something dismissed (a disorderly charge) given the allege...d facts of my case and the case law, so that my other issue (an alleged trespass) could be attacked after being wrongly accused. Mr. Hornsby handled my case swiftly with precision, dedication, and true honesty. In total I was dealing with the legal process for less than 5 months with only 2 court appearances. I was in a very sticky situation and he bluntly gave me all of the options to proceed. I was not willing to go to trial... based on the charges I was facing and he dauntlessly fought to obtain the plea deal I was offered. The states attorney kept trying to worsen the deal at the last moment, while in court, and he vigorously fought to keep it reasonable despite the annoyance it brought to the states attorney. I was facing 4 felonies and 1 misdemeanor all carrying serious prison time but only received 2 years probation and adjudication was withheld (no felony conviction). While I was hoping for a better plea deal, I was also not willing to gamble it all, 2 years probation and adjudication withheld is GREAT considering the alternative. I was a difficult client to deal with and constantly called him with my, along with my families, questions and concerns. He was never too busy to talk with me or my family (with my permission) and lay everything on the table very honestly and I sincerely thank him for that. He offers a payment plan for those who cannot pay for everything up front which was very helpful. If anyone finds themselves or a family member in legal trouble, in my opinion, the best thing you can do is call Mr. Hornsby! It was the best phone call my sister-in-law EVER made because he saved my future through his hard work, commitment, and audacious attitude.
