My Dad died on 6-29-2012 and the grief was bad enough, but then the executrix of his Estate decided that she was going to deny me any part of my inheritance. I was forced to hire an attorney in North Carolina immediately after my Dad's funeral: I have to tell you that Mr. Corby ended up being my 3...rd attorney concerning this case!!! The first two attorneys seemed to not understand the injustice that I was experiencing and I was left without any effective results at all. I was so frustrated and so discouraged that I did not know what to do or who to call. After 16 MONTHS OF DEALING WITH THE PREVIOUS ATTORNEYS and total lack of resolution, I called Mr. Workman who is also an excellent attorney in North Carolina and he referred me to STEPHEN CORBY, an attorney in Charlotte. Mr. Workman told me in no uncertain words that "THIS IS THE LAWYER THAT YOU NEED!!!!" I immediately contacted Mr. Corby, he asked that all pertinent info for the case be sent to him and he would review it. He reviewed it, got right back with me and agreed to represent me: As far as I am concerned, this was a pivotal point concerning my case. When the hearing date arrived, Mr. Corby arrived early even after having to drive one whole hour to get there, was dressed professionaly (I have to add this, because the opposing attorney who WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HANDLING MY FATHER'S ESTATE) looked like he was ready to atttend a party, I would think that out of respect he would at least wear a tie and suit jacket. Mr. Corby had very little time to prepare for my case, but he arrived COMPLETELY PREPARED TO ADDRESS ANY ISSUE CONCERNING MY ALLEGED DEBT. He was knowledgeable of both the case and every single aspect of the law in relating to my case. He responded to every accusation against me with a proper and legal assertion. I have NEVER SEEN SUCH AN INTELLIGENT LAWYER AND I AM ALMOST 60 YEARS OLD. I felt completely and totally safe in this hearing from false accusations. He presented objective and truthful responses and at all times protected me and represented me in a wholly legal and ethical manner. I just can't believe that I had to wait 16 months to finally find a lawyer who cared about me in every aspect. There are simply not enough words to send your way to convince you that if you need to hire an excellent lawyer (who also listens to every word that you say), then you should hire Mr.Corby, HE IS AMAZING, and his fees are fair and not over inflated. I just can't thank him enough for how much he has helped me, I am finally feeling some hope after 16 long months of total frustration. It appears that Mr. Coby has saved me almost $70,000.00 in overcharging of alleged estate debt!!!!How can you top that??? Mr. Corby's manner in court was soft-spoken, intelligent and confident without the need for trying to put on a show for anyone, he did his job better than any attorney that I have ever known in my life. He was impressive because he is a great lawyer, not from just trying to look impressive. He packs a punch to opposing counsel as an intelligent gentleman, not from being rude, sarcastic and condescending. This man could teach alot of other litigators the lesson of true ethics!
