Lying, shady attorney

Horrible attorney who has not one but TWO misconduct records where he has been reprimanded. He’s a liar and claims he helps victims through safe alliance and domestic violence. Pull his cases on the portal and you’ll see for yourself. He mainly represents father’s fighting to dispute abuse. Or mother...’s who are married to abusive men and the step-fathers are abusing the children. He fights to keep children with abusers!!!! Abuses moms and threatens ones who are prose and tells them he will do what he wants. Threatens with jail when mothers want to protect their children from the abusers. Stay away.

Unprofessional calling me names

He did not help me at all in my court hearing, and instead of showing proof that I was innocent, he called my ex-wife a liar and all what she said is BS. He has anger control issues and once he feels he is losing a case, he will lose his temper. I paid so much money to retain him. In return, I lost m...y case because of his poor performance in front of the judge. Don't hire him.

Stephen Corby

While I always appreciate constructive criticism, this person was never a client of mine. I have no idea what made them write this false review, maybe they are a competitor, but the situation they are describing never occurred. I'll also note that this person says they are "innocent" which is a term only used in criminal cases. I don't even practice criminal law. I have never lost my temper in court or been reprimanded for my behavior by a judge. I am considered one of the most skilled litigators in Charlotte by both my clients and colleagues.

A Zealous Advocate for My Child

Mr. Corby took the time to listen attentively to all of my issues and concerns regarding my custody and visitation case. He really seemed to care about the most minute detail and worked hard to alleviate my concerns and fears for the safety of my entire family. Not only was he able to work out an agr...eeable arrangement with opposing counsel, he fought hard for all of the 'deal breakers' on my list. I don't know what I would have done without him!

Not Solving the Case

Stephen Corby has been my NC attorney for handling a child custody case going on two years now. I live in Lexington Ky and my lawyer here found him for me. At first he was very responsive and gave me great information on how to handle the situation. We would have a phone meeting, figure out how I wan...ted to handle a situation in which he would tell me what he was going to do. I never knew if he wrote a response letter to my ex-husband's attorney as he never copied me on any emails or letters. Since I live out of town, this is the only way to know exactly what is going on with the case. There would be several times I would try to set up a phone meeting in which it would take a week or so to schedule. When we had a phone meeting, it would be for only 15 minutes or so in which I never felt like we were really getting anywhere as I wouldn't hear back from him for months in which I was usually the one who called him. To be honest, I don't know if he really did the work he billed me for. It is a very frustrating way to handle a case and I feel like I just throw away $4000 as we only had one court appearance for 30 minutes and to this date we have not resolved this case that my ex-husband filed.
