Richmond 1st DUI Reduced to Reckless Driving with only a FINE

I was arrested for a 1st DUI with a BAC of 0.11 in Richmond City. I had interviewed two Richmond DUI attorneys in-person and talked with one over the phone before hiring Mitchell Wells. I found him to be the most credible and professional. (I had also called a prominent DUI attorney in Atlanta, Georg...ia for a referral, and the attorney recommended the Riley & Wells law firm.) After speaking with him, he seemed optimistic that he could get the DUI charge amended to Reckless Driving. (He also has a very knowledgeable and polite staff of paralegals who were able to answer important questions about my case.) He always returned my calls in a very timely manner -- which is extremely important. He was very clear in explaining to me what his defense strategy was going to be over the course of my case. We had to go to court three times over the course of three months. Mitchell talked with the prosecutor each time we went to court, and finally, after our third appearance and the arresting police officer not showing up, he was able to get the charge amended to Reckless Driving. The only penalty was a $500 court fine. I didn't have my license suspended, receive jail time, or have to go to VASAP. I am extremely satisfied with the result. I feel that it was almost unprecedented, and extraordinary. Mitchell has a lot to be proud of, and I recommend him as a strong DUI attorney in Richmond.

Expertise, Experience & Familiarity!!!

I was issued a summons to appear in court for reckless driving; going 95mph in a 70mph zone. I lived out of state and didn't want to return for a court appearance if I didn't have to. Through my research I found out how serious this charge was & how I could end up spending a couple of days in jail a...long with a large fine. From the facts I read online I decided to hire an attorney. I searched online for an attorney that was in the same town I received the summons. I called Mr. Mitchell Wells first because his ratings was the highest & he returned my call that same day. He left me feeling confident from our conversation & without hesitation I hired him. He gave me a to do list of items that I should obtain so that he could better represent me in court & assured me that I would not have to appear because I'm from another state. The staff at his office are prompt and answered all my questions. Mr Wells successfully represented me and got my charges reduced to improper driving & a court fee. I'm so grateful for his expertise, experience & familiarity and recommend him without hesitation to any one who finds themselves with a traffic violation.

DUI 2ND OFFENSE WITH REFUSAL

I was arrested for a DUI 2nd offense within 3 years and refusal to take a breathalyzer test, two offenses which carried brutal punishments; loss of license for 6 years, 90 days in jail, and an ignition interlock system installed in my vehicle for 3 years. Not to mention the thousands of dollars in co...urt costs, extreme increase in car insurance, and two terrible charges that can and will ruin your quality of life. I am a department of defense employee with a classified clearance and in order to maintain that status I could not be convicted of these charges. I was afraid for my life and looked up DUI lawyers the very next day after my arrest. I researched a little and found Mitch Wells as one of Richmond’s rising star lawyers, and after speaking with him on the phone I felt at ease and comfortable, he was very personable and promptly made me aware of the stipulations of the arrest and how we were going to contest the charges brought against me. He was extremely knowledgeable of the law and how the court system worked and was always available and informative on any questions I asked regarding the case. With the research and the commitment Mr. Wells gave my case my DUI charge was amended to reckless driving and the refusal allegation was nolle prosequi, which means the Commonwealth of Virginia declined to prosecute for that offense. I am extremely happy with my results, without Mr. Wells expertise I could have lost my career and most importantly my financial stability to support myself and my family. I am more than grateful for Mr. Wells and his office’s support. They were very personable and understanding of the situation which produced the best possible outcome for the charges. My family and I thank you for all that you did for me, you saved my life…

Great Results

After being issued a citation for speeding going 75 MPH in a 55 MPH zone in July 2011 on I-95 North outside of Richmond I contemplated my options. I could either pay the fine or appear in traffic court and plead not guilty and take my chances with the outcome. Since the citation was issued in a highw...ay safety corridor the fine would have been doubled. I had decided that I would appear in court and state my case and hope for my citation to be dismissed or at the very least reduced in severity. After doing some research on the traffic laws in Virginia I decided that if I appeared in court and represented myself I would indeed have a fool for a client. After doing some extensive research on traffic lawyers in the Richmond area I decided to contact Riley and Wells and discuss my citation. I had also received mail from numerous lawyers in that area wanting to represent me. I was impressed with the professionalism Riley and Wells displayed on their website as well as some of the testimonials from other people. After talking with Mr. Wells I felt that their firm was top notch. I cannot say enough just how pleased I am with the outcome they achieved for my case. Upon completion of a safe driving course and a small court cost my case will be dismissed. I could not recommend them more highly.

I am happy with the outcome!

I had a reckless driving ticket for a 102 on a 70 mph. I found Mr. Wells online. What I liked about him is that he did not gave me false hopes to grab my business. He is knowledgeable about speeding cases. He instructed me with all the options I should do prior to my court date. Given that I was an ...out of state driver, I did not have to show up to court. My charge was reduced to Improper driving and I am very happy that I avoided misdemeanor charge from reckless driving. I will use him gladly again if I have to.
