I had court with Jon as my representation today. I had a miserable driving record, and was charged with yet another Reckless Driving offense (number 3). Intially, the Commonwealth Attorney (in VA, they are not called a DA or Prosecutor....but same thing), would not offer a plea bargain. Jon was li...ke a bird dog, got the plea I wanted, and I left with a traffic infraction (instead of a misdemeanor criminal offense), a much lesser fine, no restrictions on my driving. All MUCH better than the 1-year in jail that I could have faced if we had gone to trial. Jon also counseled me on what I could do proactively to mitigate my risk of an unfavorable outcome (he had me complete several driving courses, do community service, get my speedometer checked, and visit a psychiatrist). I have to credit Jon for saving my butt - literally - had I gone to jail, my job, my family's welfare, and my reputation. He's expensive, but worth every penny. By the way - he's never been a prosecutor...which means he's on the side of justice....not the side of the state. He's also very responsive (usually thru is full time assistant), and allowed me to talk with him whenever I liked....as long as I gave notice and worked with his schedule.
