Jon is an absolute master of his craft with a passion to defend his clients! I was unjustly charged with drunk in public at a national airport for wearing a world cup jersey and "smelling of alcohol." My airline refused my boarding and called the police and without any questioning, I was arrested per...fectly sober. Jon fought for me in court and took my drunk in public case all the way to trial where he hammered the arresting offer for not offering me any sort of intoxication test and for not displaying any drunk in public attributes. It is unheard of to be found not guilt of a drunk in public, yet Jon knew my innocence and knew I was unjustly arrested. Jon is such a kind man and takes his cases very personally. No matter how small or large your case, Jon will get you the results you need and I highly recommend him for his unbelievable experience and for being a master of his craft. There is no lawyer like Jon and you can count on him to keep you informed and comfortable throughout the entire process. A client should be thicked skinned when seeing Mr Katz for the first time. In my experience, he used F-bombs and carried himself in a manner that extinguished any hope I had to make a case. After I was visibly shaken, he did tone himself down and became receptive to what I had to say. He took my c...ase and there were a few instances, in accordance with our contract, he would threaten to drop me over unexpected events or failure to contact him in a timely manner [which was the fault of his staff not getting him the message on time]. He blamed his staff for a couple of mismanaged incidents. In addition, during meetings, Mr Katz is very aware of time that's spent with him. So much so, it's a distraction to the meetings. Lastly, the final bill that was verbally stated turned out to be different than the final itemization. I write this criticism because Mr Katz boasts a 10.0 AVVO rating on his website and this is simply not the case. I compare him to my experience with a divorce attorney and it just may be a simple fact that you can't compare a family attorney to a criminal defense attorney. Be prepared for an abrasive experience.

I contacted Jon due to an extreme number of positive reviews online after receiving a Felony possession of Marijuana w/ Intent to Distribute charge. To be very clear, I'm a family man with a career and don't sell Mary J. I knew he cared about beating this case after just 10 minutes of talking to him,... oh and don't interrupt. During the middle of our first meeting I shared that a week prior i got a reckless driving charge and had a pending petty charge from my child's Mother.
