I retained Angel Hristov in July 2025 for a custody modification case after previously having a positive experience with him during my divorce\. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different\. Over approximately one year, I spent nearly $4,000 in legal fees and experienced ongoing commun...ication issues, unanswered calls, and repeated court postponements\. One particularly frustrating incident occurred in March 2026 when I took time off work and traveled to the courthouse in Jamaica, Queens, only to learn that my scheduled appearance was not proceeding as expected due to what Angel described as a court scheduling error\. Despite this, I was asked to Zelle him $750 for his appearance\. What concerned me even more was a telephone conversation during which Angel told me he sometimes had to “play devil’s advocate” regarding my ex\-husband because he could relate to being in his shoes\. He explained that he also had a girlfriend who did not get along with his ex\-wife and that this affected his relationship with his own son because he did not want to upset his girlfriend\. He also expressed that he wished he could speak to my ex\-husband “man\-to\-man\.” As a mother seeking representation regarding concerns about my daughter’s well\-being, I found this comparison deeply inappropriate and began questioning whether my concerns were being evaluated objectively\. My custody modification petition was ultimately dismissed in July 2026 without proceeding to trial\. I had spent months gathering supporting documentation that I hoped to present\. The opposing attorney had filed a motion to dismiss, and despite my questions about whether we needed to respond, no opposition was filed\. The court’s written decision discussed the absence of opposition, which left me with serious concerns about how my case was handled\. During our final conversation in July, Angel said he would look into the cost of an appeal\. As of October 8, 2026, I have received no follow\-up\. I understand that attorneys cannot guarantee outcomes\. My dissatisfaction is not simply that I lost my case, but the communication, billing, handling of the proceedings, and overall experience\. As a single mother who trusted this firm based on previous representation, I am extremely disappointed\. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm for custody matters
