cocaine charge dismissed

Mark and his team of legal experts quickly and quietly got me out of a very serious narcotics possession charge. The case was completely dismissed and off my record. It was only due to his vast experience of operating within the Connecticut legal system that we were able to achieve such a positive ...result.

Traffic Ticket Dismissed

Mark was able to represent my son and resolve a traffic violation without my son ever needing to go to court, which was especially helpful since he was back in college. He handled all interactions for us and we were very pleased with the results.

As an Attorney and Client, I Can’t Recommend Hiring Mark Sherman Enough

Mark skillfully handled my case and guided me through the worst experience of my life. After backing into another car, I was approached by the police and threatened with charges but released in a strange limbo, not knowing whether charges would be brought. I was extremely distraught. Late that same e...vening, I found Mark’s firm through an extensive internet search and desperate for advice, I called not expecting to reach anyone. Mark took my call and spoke to me at length. The next day, it became evident that I would be charged with evading responsibility. A colleague (also an attorney) referred me to a high-priced partner in one of the older, well-established criminal defense law firms in Hartford where the accident took place. After speaking to this other lawyer, I knew in my gut that Mark was the attorney to hire. BEST DECISION I made. I am 100% convinced that had I hired this other attorney, his advice would have gotten me arrested and printed in the local police blotter (rather than issued a summons) and I would have ended up with Accelerated Rehabilitation hanging over my head for up to 2 years. Instead, Mark convinced the police to quietly issue me a summons and ultimately, got the charges dropped within 30 minutes of him entering the courthouse for my initial appearance. I never stepped foot in a courtroom (which I was dreading) and within minutes of me entering the waiting area of the courthouse, Mark informed me that the charges were dropped and my arrest record would be expunged. Although that result sounds (and felt) like magic, it was the result of 4 weeks of strategic, skillful preparation and hard work that Mark put into my case between the summons and initial court date. Every call, every question, every e-mail was promptly returned. Mark and his staff truly epitomize the best qualities of a great lawyer and firm: professional, dedicated, knowledgeable, discreet and caring. I am an attorney and I can honestly say that this experience – both the awful experience of being charged and the indescribable relief of having those charges dropped – has made me truly appreciate what it means to have a skilled, committed attorney on your side. My advice to you: hire Mark, he is someone you can place your trust in.

Don't hesitate to hire this firm

These guys are true professionals. I could not possibly be happier with the outcome of my case. Emails were returned quickly, phone calls too. It's a comfort to know that they are in my corner. My true hope is that I never need to use them again, but if I do I will not hesitate to contact them. I hig...hly recommend this law firm.

A Top Lawyer.... for real

We engaged Attorney Sherman on behalf of our daughter in February 2013 when she was 22. At the time she faced two additional arrests (disorderly conduct, assault 3rd degree, risk of injury to a child; breach of peace, hindering prosecution) which occurred one month shy of her completion of a two ye...ar Accelerated Rehabilitation Program. She had been granted an “Accelerated Rehabilitation Program” for four arrests she had accumulated over the previous six years (since 2007) while attending Greenwich High School. All of these arrests were for a variety of “ fighting incidents” while attempting to attend that High School. We had engaged top lawyers in the area to fight these charges, which resulted in the AR program but for a variety of reasons could not use them for the 2013 charges. Our daughter’s situation was very complex, so we needed a lawyer who could understand her issues and advocate on her behalf. This meant that they needed to educate the prosecutors and judges as well as advocate on her behalf. You see, my daughter was borderline intellectually disabled, bipolar, transgender and suffering from extreme anxiety and depression. At the time of the February 2013 arrests, she had just completed reassignment surgery and was in the midst of a six -week recovery from that surgery. Her name had changed during the six year time period, which also challenged the record keeping for the Courts. My husband and son are corporate lawyers admitted to practice in New York so we could easily do (and did) a lot of research on potential lawyers. A friend had recently become a Judge in Stamford and while he/she could not recommend a lawyer, they confirmed that Mark Sherman should be on the list of those we should consider. The initial interview with Attorney Sherman confirmed the choice. Mark quickly assessed the situation, had confidence in the strategy he would pursue and even recommended a psychiatrist and therapist to support my daughter. He was successful in getting a two-year “Supervised Diversionary Program” for my daughter. However, about one year into the program and on her 25th birthday, she was arrested by the Greenwich Police for a DUI (marijuana, no alcohol). The probation officer and Attorney Sherman were successful in allowing her to complete the “Supervised Diversionary Program “ without violation. He was also able to get a probation approved for the DUI. It has been a total of 9 years since her involvement with the Courts but I am pleased to report that she now has a clean record thanks to Attorney Sherman and his very competent Staff who paid attention to the details and kept us informed every step of the way. Our entire family highly recommends the Law Offices of Mark Sherman, LLC. THANK YOU!
