Disappointed with this attorney
This attorney charged me $1,200 for a case assessment and in the initial meeting stated that he would take my case on contingency. I absolutely did not inform the client that we would take the case on a pure contingent fee basis, and it is unfortunate that I was unable to help this client understand that the complexities and the limited available recovery in the potential case did not merit this office taking all of the risk, and for us to take on the case we would require the client to participate in the costs going forward. We frequently handle cases on a pure contingent fee basis (thus taking ALL of the risk), but this client's case did not merit that approach. The client, a non-lawyer, decided that his own opinion of the contract law issues in the case trumped mine, and I invited him to obtain a second opinion.
