Robert (who goes by Brett to avoid confusion with Robert Rathbun, Sr. who also practices in Virginia) served as our in-house counsel for a number of years. I worked with this attorney when he was in a large New York law firm called Thacher Proffitt and Wood. We had some serious litigation based upon a contract and joint venture we had that threatened our company’s existence. He changed found some weaknesses in their case, changed our stance from lit...igation to settlement and saved us over a million dollars in claims and also saved us half that again in what we expected in attorney’s fees for litigation.
