Fast Response and Easy to Understand - Excellent!

Elisabeth answered my question very fast. I understood her response and she even sighted the legal section that I can refer to for my dilemma. Great knowledge, thank you!

A blessing during the stress of needed repairs and having to move quickly!

I was having some serious troubles with my jerk of a landlord not making repairs to the home we rented; leaking roof, holes in siding, cracked windows. I did not know the landlord-tenant act well enough and had to have help regarding my rights and what to do. Elizabeth was SO helpful, always returned... my calls, and helped me in all the steps along the way. She really KNOWS her stuff! After all was said and done, we were able to get out of our lease, got one month rent back, and the landlord-(imagine that)-gave us wonderful references so we could move into a new home. I highly RECOMMEND her! She is nice, knows the law, and helps you to understand it. A really awesome lady! Can't thank her enough!!!

helped me with traffic tickets.

Ms. Powell went above and beyond the call of duty to help me when I had a traffic ticket and was cited for some law that only a city can disobey. Elizabeth also gave excellent advice when I ran into trouble with my landlord. she is very knowledgeable in her field. Taught me how to shut up in cour...t. a valuable skill.

Would hire again if needed!

Never met her... Yet if you're a landlord with your sh** together and in the military, do exactly as she says , follow the law (we all have the same resources!) and she will facilitate your lawsuit! I've never met the woman but she believed in me and took my case and wouldn't you know, I won :) gra...nted, the defendant is dumber than a kindergartner but from 3000 miles away, Ms. Powell guided me thru every step of the process and if you follow her guidance, you CANNOT go wrong! She knows her stuff whether you're a tenant or a landlord. Trust her, but don't take advantage of her! Pay her! She is well worth the $$.

Excellent work by an amazing lawyer

Following a number of requests to my landlord to install smoke detectors (among other things) and a subsequent fire in the building where I was renting, I followed Ms. Powell's tenant relocation guide here on Avvo. I hesitated to contact DPD because of possible retaliation but finally submitted a co...mplaint. After looking at the building and my unit, a DPD inspector informed me that indeed there were issues. There were zoning issues, the unit had been created from a garage without a permit, and the unit was ultimately unfit for habitation; and therefore I would have to relocate. I sent a letter to the landlord requesting the amount owed, and when he balked at paying the amounts required under both Seattle Municipal Code and the RCW, the first thing I did was contact Ms. Powell -- and I am glad I did. Within a few days of Ms. Powell's demand letter and follow-up communication with my landlord's lawyer, I had a promise for a check for the full amount (plus Ms. Powell's fees) and only a few days after that I had the check itself. She handled communication with the landlord and his attorney, she kept the flames burning under their laurels, and she managed to keep both myself and the City updated with the status of my attempt to receive the required amount. It felt like had an advocate, an expert, and a personal assistant in Ms. Powell with regard to this issue. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with Ms. Powell's work and I would not hesitate to contact her for a landlord/tenant issue in the future.
