Nothing is more appalling than being publicly defamed for a crime against a child, even more so when all the facts aren’t presented which is common with today's media. Long story short, after being in contact with someone who misrepresented their true age to me Brad was one of the few lawyers in Was...hington that put the rumors aside and took a personal, vested interest in my case immediately upon meeting with him. Brad Meryhew receives my highest recommendation. My case required Mr Meryhew to interface with State and Federal prosecutors, and with Federal law enforcement. He always seemed comfortable and confident navigating these waters; it was evident that he always had the attention and respect of whomever ...he was communicating with. My case was not in Seattle, so numerous trips to my area were required. In spite of a 3-4 hour drive, he was always here when he needed to be, and assured me that he always would be, no matter how many trips would be necessary. Mine seemed to be a unique case (though they're undoubtedly all unique) -- it may have been more expedient for Mr Meryhew to advise plea-bargaining, but he told me that he wouldn't be hasty in considering such an approach, and wouldn't let the prosecutors give me the 'bum's rush.' He researched similar cases and decisions, and consulted colleagues and peers for reference. He proceeded thoughtfully, like a chess master -- he was patient and deliberate when strategizing, wanting all information and ducks in a row before making a move. In the end he concluded that the best approach for my case was to argue the validity of the charges. He wrote a letter that was firm yet respectful, explaining what his defense strategy would be if the case were to go to trial. This proved to be effective -- both the State and Federal prosecutors recognized they didn't have a case against the described defense, and dismissed charges. Mr Meryhew would contact me immediately whenever there was information that I needed to know. Everyone at Rhodes and Meryhew is very friendly and respectful -- a first-rate team. I generally do not use such strong words, but Brad Meryhew was literally a savior for me during the most difficult time in my life. My entire future was truly in jeopardy, but thanks to him, I am now able to move on with my life.
