A trustworthy attorney

I met Brian Gurwitz when he worked for the Orange County district attorney's office. I came home to a robber in my house and later found myself being questioned for hours by that same man and feeling like the victim and defendant at the same time. He was able to question me because he was acing as ...his own attorney. Brian Gurwitz is a strong attorney and was able to get him convicted on a third strike and he is still in jail. Thank you Brian. Congratulations on moving over to private practice.

Plea withdrawl & Acceptable New Plea to Avoid Costly Trial

A 13 year marriage and 7 children with no prior criminal history turned into a horrible divorce as I became a defendant in a criminal law case resulting from the divorce; I found myself trapped in endless court appearances lasting approx. 2 and 1/2 years and eventually was guided by another attorney ...to a guilty plea that I was not guilty of. The bargain the previous counsel arranged did not come to fruition and I suddenly was sitting in county jail wondering what happened... I was a beaten man sitting in jail being manipulated by the system while my ex-wife took everything I had including my kids and the system supported her in the process never questioning her stories or her intentions. Mr. Gurwitz came to the jail and spent more time than expected with me. He made me feel a new hope that I had completely given up on. He started the process by leveling the scales of justice and bringing back my dignity in his dealings with the district attorney and the judge. He worked diligently to catch up on 2 and 1/2 years of data and within 30 days he was able to get my plea withdrawn and get me out of jail and back to my life. I can appreciate my situation was unique and these results may not be for everyone however it was Brian's attention to detail, his liberal time allocation compared to what I was accustomed to from previous counsel and his dedication to my case that truly impressed me. Brian cared about me and made me feel like he cared the same way a close family member would. He cared that I was in jail and he took it upon himself to make sure to execute the actions necessary to get me out as soon as possible! (28 days to be exact) Once back in society Brian didn't drag the case on for years or even months. He took the time to meet with the District Attorney before the court dates. He arranged another plea bargain that I could swallow and avoided a very costly trial both emotionally and financially for me and my family. From the time I retained Mr. Gurwitz till the case was settled was literally within 60 days allowing me to put this behind me and get back to my life and what's important! He did an amazing job and spent at least 100 hours on my case outside the courtroom. Including one all day meeting with me to help me understand all the aspects of what I was facing prior to agreeing to a new plea bargain. Way above and beyond his required duty as my attorney! That time truly saved the District Attorney and the County of Orange money as he showed me all aspects of the risk of trial and how it could affect my life. I was determined to go to trial and Brian showed me a better way for everyone. Thanks to the work of Brian Gurwitz I’m in the process of being able to get custody of my children back, attend law school and will be allowed to take the bar upon completion of law school. All of which would not be possible without the proper plea bargain arranged by Mr. Gurwitz. Having experienced many attorney client relationships in business and other fields of law I can truly attest that Brian Gurwitz is 1st class and the first guy I would call if ever forced to deal with criminal law in the future.

Brian Gurwitz is my best friend

I would highly recommend Brian Gurwitz. He is highly competent, I trust him, and seriously appreciate everything he has done for me and my family. Brian Gurwitz is my best friend, now that he has helped me get my life back on track. Brian helped me in the best way in the worst time of my life. I was ...sent to jail for vandalism and trespassing. While I was in jail, I was pepper-sprayed, tazered, and thrown in solitary confinement. My bail was set at $20,000; Brian got it down to $0. Not only did Brian get me out of jail and get both my charges dropped, but he comforted my like a true friend. Brian is the most personal, caring lawyer you could have the privilege of being represented by. He is congenial, easy-going, and has the best sense of humor ever. Seriously, he is the funniest man alive. Brian stayed with me and my family overnight at the hospital after I was released from the jail. He also calls me on a regular basis to check in with me and see how I am doing. This attorney truly cares about his clients. Throughout the whole experience, I felt really comfortable knowing that I could rely on Brian. He was extremely knowledgeable and experienced. His experience paid off as I got the best possible outcome for my case. The whole time Brian was very responsive to my needs and kept me informed. I really trust him just because of the way he made me laugh and treated my like a true friend. I feel lucky to have been represented by Mr. Gurwitz.
