THE BEST LAWYER OUT THERE!

I had to look for a lawyer to defend my case for "Reckless Evading," which is a wobbler and can be tried as a misdemeanor or felony. What seemed to be an easy case to be brought down to a misdemeanor because of the severity of my actions, ended up being a very stressful journey. I was first paire...d with an incompetent lawyer who wouldn't even show up to my hearings. She was also immediately willing to settle with the sentence the judge was hinting to give me without showing any real effort of at least attempting to take it down to a lesser punishment. I was then recommended by a close family friend to schedule a meeting with Brian and Kyle. I immediately noticed the difference between my previous lawyer and Brian. He was very knowledgeable, and even with his extremely busy schedule with his family and other clients, he still managed to make it to all of my hearings even if it were just a minor hearing which took a couple of minutes. The judge was still willing to give me a felony which would have been very detrimental to my future as a graduating college student. Brian put up one of the best arguments I have ever heard, and delivered it to the court the best way possible during my open plea hearing. In the end, Brian was able to reduce my sentence to a misdemeanor. I highly recommend Brian, he is the best lawyer out there.

WHEN EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ETHICAL CONDUCT MATTER

When my son was accused of a crime he did not commit, our family was devastated and sent on an excruciatingly painful, emotional roller coaster. Our complete inexperience on similar matters landed us with unscrupulous attorneys who after 7 months of giving us the run around with callous indifference... and taking our money did literally NOTHING. I was disheartened, exhausted and convinced that “ethical attorney” was an oxymoron. But then I met Brian Gurwitz. From the very first meeting with him and his associate attorney I knew my son’s case would be in good, highly competent, ethical hands. He immediately immersed himself in the case; we were not just a client, we were human beings who had put their trust in him, a trust he honored thru the entire case. He was fully invested, determined, focused and comfortingly confident without making any promises. He was amazingly diligent and left no stone unturned in his search for the facts, uncovering the alleged victim’s less than unblemished background and highly questionable credibility. His associate attorney and his investigator were equally diligent in their research for the facts and their commitment to get justice for my son. At trial he was drama-free, professional, forceful, fully prepared, organized, never missing a beat. In less than 3 hours the jury returned a unanimous verdict of not guilty. Only 13 weeks had passed since Brian had taken the case!! I wholeheartedly recommend Brian as an ethical, highly skilled, accessible attorney with a great sense of humor, who learns his cases from A-Z and who never loses sight of the fact that his client is a human being . Brian and his team will always be a very important part of our lives.

Look no Further

After a week of research and analysis, I retained Brian Gurwitz - on more than one occasion. I cannot discuss the case(s) but they were very difficult. He exceeded each one beyond my expectations. If I were to rate Brian from a scale of 1 to 10, he would be an easy 10 ++ starting with In...telligence, skill, knowledge and abilities. As a previously- successful prosecuting District Attorney, he has more than it takes to defend his client(s); for one thing, he can think like the prosecution and better plan his defense - he has been on "the other side." The "plus" is for his genuine kindness and helpfulness. He instills trust and confidence. He is a good judge of character. Brian treats his clients as friends yet maintains professionalism. I am at ease when I talk with Brian and I consider him a friend. Just as importantly, his honesty and integrity shines through. I can't say enough about him. I am grateful. Look no further. Brian Gurwitz is the best - bar none!

Above and Beyond

I posted my bail and got home after my arrest, but was astonished to find that my arrest was all over the news. I was now being portrayed as a monster to the public and my outlook was not very positive. I had reporters on my doorstep and threats in my email inbox. I was not allowed to see my children... and I thought I would be going to jail. I knew that I needed an attorney, and I needed a really good attorney. I found Brian Gurwitz, and after retaining his services, my outlook changed. I was an alcoholic and I needed help, not punishment. Brian understood that and made that the priority. He really looked after me during the the entire process. At one point during the process while I was at home, I got seriously injured in a completely unrelated accident. Brian came and got me to a hospital! His excellent relationship with the court and prosecutor's office made it possible for him to relate the issues and find a mutually beneficial conclusion. I really mean beneficial. Brian was able to get me into a rehabilitation program instead of any jail time. I got the help I needed, not a prison sentence that would have taken me farther away from my family and a good future. Now, 3 years later. I have completed my sentence and remain sober and productive. Today, Brian is currently working on the expungement of my felony and the possible reduction to a misdemeanor. He has stayed with me from the very beginning with sound advice and steadfast encouragement. My whole life changed that fateful day when I was arrested. Thanks to Brian Gurwitz, it was changed for the better.

Perfect, Compasionate Attorney at Law

I had the pleasure of meeting Brian Gurwitz back in 2011 while being detained. At that time i had all loss of hope. Brian visited me in Jail to get a full understanding of what had happened upon my arrest. After reviewing my case he was very informative of what my options would be. with my court dat...e just three weeks away a friend of mine had posted my bail. Being the person I once was at that time, I was arrested again and caught a whole new case to add to the one i was on bail for. Now i was in deep. Awaiting to see the judge I was asked if I had a attorney working my new case. I told them that Brian Gurwitz was working on another case and asked them to please contact him. By the end of the day Brian arrived and assured not to worry. By my surprise Brian took on my new case at no charge. With my two cases, I was facing up to five years in prison. Brian informed me of Delancey Street as being another option, a two year Behavior Modification Program. So I submitted a letter to Delancey Street and awaited an interview. After two weeks, I was interviewed and accepted. Thanks to Brian's success as a great attorney and respectful attitude with the law he was able to convince the judges that Delancey Street would work for me. I was granted the opportunity to try something new and change my life around. When think that was good enough, to add, he picked me up from jail, took me to dinner, and drove me to Delancey Street. During our dinner meeting, Brian gave me his word that if I complete and graduate from Delancey Street, he would take all my cases to the courts and have my record sealed, and let me tell you, Brian Gurwitz is a man of his word!
