I had a unique situation wherein I am being sued by a major bank on credit card debt, and later the bank sold off the debt and the assigned creditor had subsequently filed suit against me. After the suit had been filed the original creditor/bank had submitted to me a 1099-C "Forgiveness of Debt...".
