Back in mid June 2016 I made a simple and dumb choice to bring a substantial amount of fireworks from pahrump Nevada into California for Independence Day for the family to celebrate. As i was crossing state line into California around the Baker area I noticed a cal fire truck unit behind me for abou...t 15 minutes. He initiated a stop by turning on his lights. Officer stated to me that the stop was made due to speeding, which was incorrect since I had my cruise control on @ the speed limit of 55. He said I was going 65. Officer explained to me that he was going to search my vehicle because he felt that I had illegal fireworks in my vehicle. Even though I don't have a criminal record, I asked him under what legal law are you allowed to search my vehicle. He said he could see fireworks inside my vehicle which was false since they were covered with a blanket. I didn't want any trouble of any kind so I cooperated with the officer since I did see more units arrive within minutes. My brother and i stepped out of my vehicle and officers searched my vehicle and removed all my fireworks from the vehicle. They even had a scale to weigh them. It's obvious they knew what they were doing to begin with. Once their investigation was complete the officer cited me for illegal fireworks which was a misdemeanor. Since i live in Ventura county about two and a half hours away from Victorville I didn't want to deal with going to court and making the drive to the court house. I searched for lawyers within the area and came across Sarah Powell. After reading her reviews and comparing to other lawyers I was leaning more towards her. I didn't know if i had heard her correctly so I asked her again. She said yes, i filed for a dismisssal and the DA dismissed your case. I was very relieved to hear that. Sarah Powell is the truth.
