I consider myself responsible but for whatever reason that evening I chose to get in the car and drive instead of... calling an Uber or a cab. I let everyone and myself down. Being involved in an accident I was very fortunate the other driver wasn't seriously injured or killed. I was very fortunate other drivers weren't involved. And I am very fortunate I wasn't injured or killed. I was arrested and charged with a felony. Bail costs, lawyer cost, fines, JAIL and unknown!!! This was the scariest event I have ever been in. The consequences are severe and they should be. I spoke with a few lawyers, Dod being one of them, and he came across as the most straight forward. Dod was honest. He broke down the law and all the different factors that could lead to different outcomes. Not knowing your fate in all of this is the scariest part of all of this after you've been arrested. In the end, which took four months, I walked out of court with a misdemeanor count, a fine and a weekend in jail. Dod saved my clearance for work, my career, future career opportunities, I get to go home to my wife and 8 month old daughter, see my parents and the rest of family and friends.
