Landlord issue

So far, I have only spoke with Binh Bui on the phone(consultation) in regards to my landlord issues that I have had for a long time now. Mr. Bui sounds very determined only if I make sure I do my part in providing the needed information that he needs. I hope that everything works out even though he i...s in San Diego and I am in a different city. I will post my review until then. I hope GOD has sent me to the right attorney. I just want this landlord to pay for what he has done! And when I mean pay, I mean where it hurts the landlord, dollars because that's what my major problem is, my landlord refuses to put out any money to maintain our complex. He actually just raised our rent again. He wants to take money in, but not put any money out!

He seems to be on the landlords side

I talked to Bui about my issue with my landlord and he did give me some advise over the phone that sounded like I don't have too much options. after his advice I came to the conclusion that California tenant law favors the landlord but he said actually - the law favors the tenant. After speaking to... another lawyer I realized - in fact Bui is in favor of the landlord.

Considering my group and I sue 10-30 landlords per month, and do not represent landlords (expect favors to friends here and there), I would disagree with "favoring" landlords. California law definitely is equal to both landlord and tenant in my opinion, but your FACTS had you on the losing end which you didn't want to hear.

Lack of communication

I appreciate attorney Bui took over the case from another office that failed to get the job done. We were neglected by our landlord and were literally living in at sh*t hole for over 15+ years. There were so many problems with that house and the biggest problem we had was black mold that the landlord... ignored. When attorney Bui took the case, I thought finally we've found a good attorney and karma will kick that landlord in the face. After a year of not getting updates, I'm disappointed seeing that Attorney Bui might as well end up like the other attorney we had before. He lacks communication with his clients and fail to give us updates.

I admit, we do not give regular updates. With 100-200 lawsuits going at a time, giving regular updates when nothing is happening is a waste of time we could be using to work for our clients--which is what we do. You don't complain that we got your a good result, only that we didn't update often enough...which is true.

Scam

I was so disappointed by Mr. Bui and his team. I attended a consult and was told that I would not be charged, that his work was “pro bono” for tenants unless we won our case. Unfortunately, he was a predator and demanded money from me after the initial consultation. I am a single mother and could not... afford it, yet he took me to small claims over it.

Hi Shannon, I think you have the wrong person. I have not taken you to small claims or charged for a consultation. I also do not do pro bono, instead we work on contingency. If you have actual documents to prove that I sued you, please post it here.

I used Binh for about 2 months and was disappointed in his knowledge. I do not how someone rate Binh so high. Binh is not responsive when you need him. I recommend that you shop around before using Binh.

I'm sorry but I don't have a record of you as a client. If I had done your bankruptcy then I assume it was completed because I don't have any incomplete or otherwise "bad" bankruptcies. All were discharged that I have done, or clients voluntarily dismissed. I or my office try to respond quickly, usually within 48 hours.
