You probably wouldnt get Mr. Shusterman's direct help

We hired Mr. Shusterman after reading the reviews on AVVO around 8 years ago and hired him. However we've never met him in person and we were always pushed to work with another attorney in the office. We've worked with several and never with Mr. Shusterman who we came to the office for. Obviously we ...wanted Mr. Shusterman. Then 2 years ago, Mr. Shusterman sold his business and we weren't notified. Thank God we happened to call to find out about my father's case status. It took me a couple days to hunt down the information. Finally got to speak with Mr. Shusterman over the phone. He was great. He initially wanted to push me to work with another attorney in the business that he sold to, I said I never hired them also the appeal brief at the time was due within days. I didn't want to hire a new attorney that I didn't even choose. My father is too important to us to just work with a random attorney last minute. We need to vet it. I asked for a refund. Mr. Shusterman agreed but later called me back said he'd work on the case himself. Obviously I was happy to hear that. Now 2 years later, he emailed me saying my husband's case was denied and attorney Jennifer doesn't believe we should continue to appeal. My husband? Obviously he doesn't remember about the case and he didn't work on the case himself. Jennifer was one of the attorneys we were forced on. It was fine in the beginning because I thought Mr. Shusterman if he cared about his reputation, he would make sure the quality of her service. Anyways, she's been rejecting to help us and apparently she's been forced to work on the last brief. Since she feels this way about the case, we for sure can't use her again. Just sad that we are again in the situation of having to find a new attorney in a short period of time and have to re-explain the case. So do yourself a favor. Try another office, you may have a better luck.

Dear Ms. Chen, I am sorry that both the Immigration Judge and the Board of Immigration Appeals have denied your father's request for a waiver of criminal conduct. The problem is that when someone is convicted of multiple serious crimes, and fails to express regret for his actions, it is all but impossible for them to get a waiver. As the BIA stated in their decision, "the respondent has continuously denied or minimized his wrongdoing." You seem to misunderstand how our team works on behalf of our clients. Read some of our 450+ Avvo reviews and you will see that the praise we have received from our clients is not just for the work that I personally have done, but for our team of lawyers. As I explained from the outset, generally I do not write court briefs or applications for immigration benefits. Each of our attorneys specializes in a particular area of immigration law and works on cases in that area. For example, Attorney Jennifer Rozdzielski is a Certified Specialist in Immigration Law with well over a decade of experience representing clients in removal proceedings. She did an excellent job representing your father in Immigration Court. Unfortunately, your father failed to convince the Immigration Judge that he regretted the conduct that led to his criminal convictions. The Judge found that his conduct was both "violent and fraudulent in nature". The BIA agreed with the Judge, and I forwarded you the BIA's decision as soon as I received it. I advised you that it was unlikely that the Federal Court would accept an appeal since both the Judge and the BIA denied your father's request for a waiver as a matter of "discretion". I know that this is difficult to accept, but I do not want to charge a person money for an appeal which I believe may be all but impossible to win. I offered to call you and to recommend other experienced immigration attorneys from whom you could request a second opinion. However, you have not responded to my offer.
