As a person who knows a few things about "free consultations" (I work in marketing), I went into my meeting with Ms. Benefield only looking to get as much free information as possible before I went to file my documents myself. I met her in her office in Beverly Hills (great office btw) and when we go...t set up in the conference room, I waited for her to start selling herself to me, all with the intentions of just letting her speak and then asking my questions and leaving. Instead of talking herself up, she let me talk first. She let me pour out my heart for over 20 minutes and answered every question I had without hesitation and with a sense of compassion I am not used to getting from professionals especially from those who i suspect are only after my money. At the end of our time, I had to retain her because I knew she would be able to go into court on my behalf and help me. Sure enough, during my hearing I heard her speak with the same amount of passion and conviction that she had spoken with the very first time we met. I admire that about her and I wish more lawyers were like that. I went from looking to get free advice to looking to get her more paying clients (myself included) because I really liked the way this lady made me feel as a client. I was not just a paycheck or a case number. Mrs. Benefield made me feel like more than just a client. She made me feel like a friend. I am very happy that i got the chance to hire her (cause we won).

Dealing with a broken relationship is really hard especially when kids are involved. I really wanted this case over and done with so I could focus on being a better parent to my kids. Really just needed a lawyer that understood my pain and was willing to meet me where I was at financially. I know man...y people say "getting divorced is expensive" but in my case, my lawyer was able to work with me to help me save money so i could spend my resources and time on reconstructing my life with my kids. I recommend her because she is a good person, a good listener, and an AMAZING lawyer. She took the time to become my lawyer, to know my case, and to advise me based on what was good for my own interests, not hers.

Long story short, I had a very scummy landlord who went out of his way to screw residents out of their security deposits. This lawyer helped me realize what my rights were as a tenants and I was able to keep some of the money this guys was trying to lay claim to. I have already recommended her to my ...fellow apartment mates because where I live, I know my case is not unique. To all the bad landlords out there, have some morals and integrity. Be about your word or lawyers like this will set you straight.

I am really happy with the way Ms. Benefield handled my case. I didn't realize I  could really get primary physical custody of my daughter!
