I was referred to Gihan by a Federal Bureau of Investigation officer, when I was stopped in the airport for traveling without proper documentation. After hearing my story, the FBI Agent said that he didn’t understand why I would not be able to gain legal status and perhaps even citizenship to the Uni...ted States of America. Within 6 months, I was granted asylum based on my life circumstances. In addition, my husband and I experienced a groundbreaking decision that Gihan was responsible in obtaining. To my understanding, it was the first time historically that this exception was allowed for a person seeking asylum in the United States. Yes, it was my story and my life’s work that created this opportunity but it was Gihan’s knowledge of immigration law and her understanding of my culture and background that forged the path to victory! I now have the opportunity to apply for my green card and eventually citizenship to the U.S. and this is all thanks to Gihan Thomas and her entire staff! I could not be more grateful and thankful for this experience. I feel as though her entire office is now a part of my family! I am still in awe and amazement of what Gihan was able to do for me and my family! I more than strongly recommend Gihan and her staff for any legal representation people may be seeking!
