Two main problems for a post divorce motion that I am filing. (1) prior to hiring her we discussed startegy of pro-per versus having her represent me at hearing. We decided I would go pro-per and at the day of the hearing she would be upstairs in cafeteria and if the case didnt go well, I'd tell th...e judge before it ended that I didnt feel comfortable and wanted to have an atorney. In fact this was so important to me that we wrote this into her engagement letter. A few months later now ready to file the motion and she tells me she was just joking and it doesnt work like that and either I need to have her identified as lawyer prior to hearing or go pro-per. That was after I paid her $16,000. (2) the bills seem to have been padded. Much of the billing was for 3 sets of redline changes I submitted after each revision draft. (a) if you look at the amount of changes I submitted therre is now way that review of those and relevant revision comes even close to the hours billed for those projects, and (b) she told me that the paralegal's time is not charged for. for 2 of those revisions it appears only the paralegal worked on them. i have emails from the paralegal stating that Alexandra did not review the changes. Yet there is heaving billing for those revisions from Alexandra.
