My ex and I were to divorce, supposedly amicably, by mediation in what was to be a fast and painless experience. The judge, however, deemed the agreement unfair to me so denied it. In a fit of rage, my ex decided to sic a high cost lawyer on me, paid for by his wealthy parents, to "put me in my plac...e." I had never been in a position to need a lawyer for anything, so was frightened and despairing of what would happen, and how much money I'd have to put on my credit card. In fact, his lawyer called me and bullied me about the case, making me feel vulnerable and attacked - just like my ex husband did during our marriage.
