Melissa Williams

I was fortunate enough to have found Melissa while I was going through some difficult family law issues. From the start of this process Melissa was more than thorough at explaining all of my options regarding my case. Family law cases are often difficult to deal with on every level but Melissa made... me feel at ease. My questions and concerns were immediately addressed and there was always an open line of communication. Navigating through the court system for individuals that have little to no experience can be overwhelming however Melissa exhibited a high level of professionalism while dealing with not only me but her peers as well. I had to unfortunately address a couple of child family law issues but I am happy to say that Melissa won them all. I would recommend Ms. Williams 100% to anyone requiring a tremendous family law attorney!

Well....

My case was different than any regular case because I wasn't battling a parent, I was battling a grandparent (who is not so friendly). I expressed my concerns to Melissa, and told her everything that I could remember/recent and she reassured me that this case would get swept across the rug (dismissed... or little to no time). OK. I was confident, until Court because we definitely found out who was boss and my evidence wasn't used (whether she found that it was relevant or not) At recess,I expressed to her that I was going to lose, sure enough the worst happened. My daughter, 2 year old daughter has to see a woman whom she doesn't not know and has no bond with on a co parenting visitation (some parents don't even get what she got). She failed at my representation and my situation has been hell ever since (thank God it was only a temporary hearing). Best part is, my representation, JUDGED me over things that I simply forgot (error on my part) and used things that me and her discussed in CONFIDENCE (attorney-client relationship) and used it against me (I'm a widow. Lost my husband 8 months ago) and blamed ME for the relationship that caused this matter. I was already upset following court , but I became more upset with her phone call. As a lawyer, they are supposed to defend you till the end. I didn't get that treatment, She was stern with me, but it came to court, she was very quite and timid. I was EMBARRASSED! Again, I partly blame my self by going with the first lawyer who looked good on paper. As a divorce lawyer, she may be great. If you are looking for some one to represent you on something other than divorce, look Elsewhere. A part of me felt bad, because I started looking for another lawyer 3 days after court because I cant take anymore chances with this case. My mistake was picking a lawyer whom was out of town (naive me; I've never been to court before, so I didn't think that mattered) and the fact that her last grandparents rights case was a mere 20 years ago. Bottom line, I learned an expensive lesson. This is why I gave her a FAIR rating because it was partly my fault, but poor on a attorney-client relationship level.

Comapssionate and knowledgable

Melissa was extremely professional, compassionate and knows the law about divorces in Texas. She very much walked me through the process, her assistant was always available to answer questions as well. It was all done in ample time and fashion.
