Travis Turner is the worst of the worst

Travis Turner and his firm are known for creating unnecessary and unwarranted hostility in divorces in order to create a fight that never otherwise needed to exist. Now that I am done with him, I have heard it from numerous people when his firm name came up This is a great way to run up legal bills.... He did this in my divorce in spades, including blatantly lying about what was feasible in the divorce. I also have documented evidence of Mr. Turner and his team sending frivolous "letters" to opposing council which had no merit or purpose, but which I was billed for. This happened on more than a few occasions. There also seemed to be an inordinately high number of internal "conferences" amongst Mr. Turner, his associate attorneys, and his paralegals compared to the number of conversations and hours with the client. In 9 months and well over $100,000 spent with Mr. Turner, my divorce had two Rule 11 agreements come out of it, and not a single set of temporary orders. In that much time and for much less money, the entire divorce should have been over. Once Mr. Turner and his firm were booted from my divorce, it took a total of 4 months and approximately $30,000 in attorneys fees to go from where he left it to completely finished and exactly ZERO work from Mr. Turner's 9 months and $100,000+ in bills was useful to the closure of the divorce.

Anonymous, I am sorry to see that you have chosen to anonymously post to this forum. While I will be the first to admit that I cannot please every single client that I represent, I would say that the vast majority of clients have had a different experience than what you detail in your post. Normally, I would not respond to your accusations but given their flagrant and capricious nature I find it necessary to do so in order to keep the record straight. For what it is worth I attempted to reach out to you to discuss your posting but you have chosen not to engage, therefore I will take the time to respond herein. As I stated to you in my correspondence to you I believe your description of events to be grossly misleading and inaccurate. I also find it quite interesting that a review of your public court file shows that while you claim on November 7, 2017 that your case is "completely finished", as of the writing of this response on December 11, 2017, your pro se filing claims that there are no less than 35 discrepancies with your final decree that still has not been signed by the court. I note that you told the Court that your attorneys that helped you resolve this case and have since withdrawn “simply weren’t experienced enough to handle the complexity of this case.” It would be helpful for other readers if you would stay consistent in your statements to the public, as an anonymous poster, and your statements to the Court, as a named litigant. For example, while your posting claims that my firm was "booted from my divorce" you accurately told the Court that "his firm dropped me during discovery because I was unable to pay the bill..." This is an appropriate time to tell the current readers that you walked away from my firm owing $19,247. While you are correct that my firm represented you for approximately nine months, you only spent $47k with my firm. Perhaps you are lumping together the three other attorneys that you have hired in this case when you say over 100k. Further, I take offense to your claim that it was I who created unnecessary and unwarranted hostility in this case. I can assure you that it was not I who choose to fight over a car seat, it was not I who chose to fight over whether your child sat in the middle seat or not and it was not I who told you to call the cops on at least two separate occasions, one of which you were at fault. I will take credit for the fact that I advised you that based on your actions your case would not turn out the way you wanted. It was I who gave you my undivided attention on a Saturday to negotiate a Rule 11 agreement (over the car seat and seating position among other issues) so that you would not have to go to a temporary orders hearing. As attorneys we are given a set of facts. We do our best to mold those facts into something that we can use to support the positions of our clients. Sometimes the facts we are given are helpful and sometimes they are not. At Burnett Turner we do our best to work with our clients and to work with the facts that we are given. It is unfortunate that not all cases turn out the way the client wants. It is unfortunate for you that no matter who represented you you were not going to be happy.

Best Attorney in Austin!

Travis Turner provided first class legal representation during one of the most difficult times in my family’s life. Through the entire process, he was honest and straightforward, yet compassionate and understanding. Both Travis and his paralegal, Gina, are amazing to work with. They were kind and ...always responded to any question or need I had in less than twenty-four hours. I highly recommend Travis Turner and his team!

Great Divorce Attorney Travis Turner!

Travis Turner was a wonderful attorney for my uncontested divorce. He and his team were thorough, yet expedient. I never had the sense that he was dragging things out just to rack up a higher bill. (That has been my experience with other attorneys!) I was divorced within a few days of the legal w...ait time. He even sent a junior attorney to meet me at the courthouse for the divorce proceeding b/c it would be less expensive for me. That is a person looking out for me and not his wallet! I would (and have!) highly recommend Travis to anyone who is looking for a great divorce attorney.

Professional, Judicious and Compassionate

Travis Turner and Ruth guided me through divorce with expertise and professionalism. My children always remained priority. Ruth always prepared me for the process, she turned my angst and worry into optimism. I was never left second guessing, despite all the unknown variables. Travis kept me informe...d during the entire process, and was incredibly responsive to communication. Travis triumphs for his clients best interests. Divorce is never a pleasant experience, but Travis exceeded my expectations. His great attention to detail, and comprehensive understanding of family law, set me on a comfortable path to my new life. Let Travis do his job, his does it well.

Willingness and desire to help you through difficult situations

Travis Turner couldn't have been more helpful in my situation. Even though he wasn't representing me for most of my divorce, he was kind enough when I reached out needing someone at the last minute to help me with a court appearance. It's not so much about the willingness to help me last minute, that... may or may not be possible all the time, it's the exhibiting his INTENTION to be trying to help people whenever possible through difficult times. Thanks Travis!
