Travis Turner's firm is professional and gets the job done.

Travis Turner represented me in the precedings of my divorce/custody hearing. I found him and his firm to be very professional and found him to be extremely bright. The divorce/custody hearing was moved to a different State as expected but Travis laid the ground work for a successful outcome. His adv...ice and expertise in the initial hearing benefited me till the end. I'm happy to say that I gained majority custody of my son by the end which is often difficult for a father to get. I definitely recommend his firm.

Very responsive, knowlegeable, and professional

Travis helped me in a divorce case several years ago. He was always very good about keeping me informed, he knew the law well, and had a long term view in regards to reaching a divorce agreement. The advice he provided has passed the test of time.

NOT RECOMMENDED

My wife and I used Mr. Turner's services in the context of modifying an existing custody order. Mr. Turner failed to plead one of our allegations properly, as he admittedly did not consult the Texas Family Code before filing our pleading. The other side responded with a special exception, meaning tha...t there was a defect in our pleading. Most clients would probably view this as a normal legal tactic used by opposing counsel. However, my wife (an attorney) informed me that Mr. Turner had mispled the elements of that specific allegation, the elements which were easily obtainable from the Family Code. Mr. Turner indicated that we could easily remedy the situation with an amended pleading, which we would be charged for. When asked why he didn't consult the Family Code to correctly plead this particular cause of action the first time, he indicated that there were "no rules" in family law. When asked if he would waive his fee for the second pleading due to his firm's error, he refused. At that point, we switched firms and were able to obtain a satisfactory result with alternate counsel. Sometimes legal strategies don't pan out, and an attorney may have to file additional pleadings as a matter of course. However, when your attorney chooses not to consult the governing body of statutes and rules for the type of law that he practices at your expense, that is another matter altogether. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Mr. Turner's legal services in the area of family law.

Assertive, Human, and Produces the Result...

I was referred to Travis Turner a few years ago, when I was overwhelmed by the circumstances resulting from the stupidly generous settlement I made a couple of years prior with my ex-wife. Once he recovered from the shock of reading the document, Travis was BRILLIANT in coming up with potential solu...tions and strategies which resulted in a much fairer deal for me (he literally got my life back for me) - while still leaving my ex with a generous financial arrangement. Travis is a great negotiator and keeps the edges round, not sharp. He understands the humanity with which people react - and also reined me in when he needed to. Travis is a counselor as well as a lawyer - so I believe that if you try him, you'll like him a lot...
