Adoption Case

Zara Ali is a highly professional, responsive, knowledgeable, and compassionate family lawyer. She made sure to accommodate our specific needs and always responded in a timely manner. She was excellent at coordinating the appropriate persons and letting us know what to expect. She answered all of que...stions without hesitation or would follow up as soon as possible. We did not have any negative experiences throughout our process. She is incredibly considerate and goal oriented. She goes above and beyond for her clients and their families. We are incredibly happy to have been able to work with her, and would recommend her in the future to anyone needing a family lawyer. Our court proceeding went flawlessly. She was more than prepared and I know that I can reach out to her anytime if I have any questions or concerns.

Best Attorney In Town!

Zara is an incredibly professional, dedicated and extremely personable with an outstanding skills and perfect knowledge about immigration cases. Zara helped me file for permenant residents status (green card). Her efforts in my case went above and beyond. She kept me updated at all times and explaine...d all of the possible outcomes. I consider myself blessed and lucky to have Zara throughout my case, representing me at my interview which was a big relief for me. Prior to the interview, Zara spent significant time with my wife and I to prepare us for the interview. During the time period of my case, if I have had any questions or queries, I would contact Zara without any hesitation. With being very busy, she was very responsive, communicative and efficient. I was recently granted my permenant resident status. I can highly recommend ZARA ALI to handle your immigration cases. Thank you Zara for everything you did for us with great passion and high energy!

Incompetent, passive, engaged in a punishable activity

I hired attorney Zara Ali-a one-person law practice-and was the client in the case. Zara's mistreatment of my case was appalling: indifference, laziness, incompetence, greed, and zero result at the end. When I hired her, she indicated to have handled a similar case in India such that things will go s...moothly. I paid her but she did *absolutely nothing*. * When I alerted Zara to many mistakes in the citation issued by the clerk's office, she 'claimed' to not have received the citation from the court. The citation had to be redone, doubling the cost and time. * For three months, there was no sign of the citation being served, but Zara cared less to follow up with the court. I stepped in, got the registered mail number, filed a case with USPS, contacted the foreign country postal service, and got Zara documented evidence (including an email from postal service staff) that the court documents were delivered to the defendant's brother. Nevertheless, she did not bother to act on the material, file it with the court, and check if service of process is deemed perfected. * Zara was supposed to actively invoke the different “service of process” options as laid out in the law, but she never bothered. I lost nine months caused by Zara's shocking passivity. I stepped in again, searched the internet for alternative service of process, found a court order that I adapted to my case, prepared the "Motion for Substitute Service" and emailed it for the attorney to finalize and file with the court. She requested extra money for the DHL package, which I paid. She posted the DHL package but did not return my requests to share the delivery number. After three weeks-presumably through a mistake she made-the package got delivered to some unknown person. She now got me involved to do her work. I stepped in again, made contact with DHL (U.S.A. and foreign), got the package recovered, and advised DHL on delivery. As the defendant refused to accept the package from DHL, I asked Zara to schedule a court meeting and seek an order to deliver the package to the defendant's family business. I prepared a detailed motion with evidence from DHL and emailed the documents as PDF to Zara. She did not bother to answer my emails. Ultimately, the night before her scheduled court meeting, she electronically filed with the court "AS IS" the PDF documents I emailed. This is punishable as the documents-even though carrying her digital signature-were 100% prepared by me and were sent to Zara to review and adapt NOT to file with the court as her work. While I awaited the court order allowing delivery of the DHL package to the defendant's family business, Zara emailed saying that I need to appear in court to testify. To run loose, she had herself made that specific request to the judge. I answered: "Testify about what when the court papers were never served and the defendant is outside the U.S.?" * Ultimately, I asked Zara to close the case and refund me. She did not answer. Again, I searched the internet, found the appropriate filings, prepared the "Notice of Nonsuit without Prejudice" and the corresponding "Court Order", and emailed them. Zara adapted the two documents slightly and filed with the court. I waited 15 days with no news. I emailed her: "Where is my copy of the court order signed by the judge?" Only then, she emailed the Court Order which she had already received from the court 9 days earlier. * I emailed Zara again requesting a refund. She never answered. Zara Ali is a failure. Zara had instant and ready-made excuses to defend her failures, always putting words in the judge's mouth, which is a serious abuse. I paid her but she accomplished nothing at all; it was me who pushed her and did her work all the way. She is not even worth the one star; do NOT hire her. I am hoping that the authorities and the State Bar of Texas look into this case and consider an appropriate disciplinary measure based on the outcome of a thorough, impartial review.

In instances where a party to a divorce must be served internationally, certain measures must be taken. It is the job of an attorney to advise a client of these measures and the particular policies and procedures of the judge assigned to their case. Every court has what is known as “Local Rules.” The Local Rules are published by Judges, and it assists attorneys in understanding a Judge’s preference. Judges may require a party to make multiple court appearances-purpose of which is to GIVE TESTIMONY- when attempting to deliver documents to an address in a remote part of the world, which after several calls with customer service, even DHL cannot locate. It is difficult for any attorney to achieve the desired outcome when a client refuses to make any court appearances upon the Judge’s request, not only is this going against the advice of counsel but it is a blatant insult of the Court and will usually result in the Judge denying the requested relief.
