Attorney License

I hired Mr. Bennett after receiving a Preliminary Determination Letter on my Character & Fitness. The letter required me to have a hearing to determine my fitness to practice law. I called and spoke to Mr. Bennett about my case and he was understanding, professional, and kind. He provided valuable in...sight into the hearing process and ways that we could present a favorable case to have my license granted. I hired Mr. Bennett and we put together my case in a very short time period. I had a hearing in November and was granted my license. The hearing process was uncomfortable, but having Mr. Bennett there with me provided a great deal of comfort knowing that he had worked these types of cases many times before and had been successful. I am happy with Mr. Bennett's candor, insights, and compassion throughout the process of obtaining my license, and I would recommend him to any of my friends in the same position that I was in.

Excellent Representation

Bob is very knowledgeable with the inner workings of the state bar grievance committee. Having known him for years, he was my only choice when deciding who to hire to assist me in defending a grievance. He gave me guidance and answered my questions and did his best to keep me calm. I was very satisfi...ed with the outcome and would highly recommend him to anyone else!

Attn: Texas Bar Applicants Wanting Responsive, Caring, and Competent BLE Attorney

Bob knows the Board of Law Examiners staff. He also gets to know his clients. And he got things done for me. He is the most transparent and responsive professional I have worked with. He spoke to me as a colleague, asked good questions, and promptly followed up to my questions. I have access to th...e same client file he uses. So I am as updated on matters as he and Ryan, his paralegal, are. He charges a flat fee, but also timely invoiced me to further keep me in the loop. By the way, I delayed contacting Bob because of his own licensing issue from a few years ago. And I wasted a lot of time talking with other attorneys when I should have called him first. MAJOR SUGGESTION FOR ALL POTENTIAL TEXAS BAR APPLICANTS: Contact Bob before you apply. I wish I had. At least contact Bob the moment you receive a letter advising you that your C&F is still under review. I wish I had. Bob will help you understand the maze before you get caught in it so you can avoid the traps that are everywhere. As I learned, you don't know what you don't know until your attorney advises you in advance or until after you learn the hard way. Which process would you prefer?

On my licensing issue, the presiding judge from San Antonio, Carmen Kelsey was removed from her office and has not been allowed to preside to this day. The Prosecutor, Tim Bersch, was forced to retire and the case was reversed and I was immediately reinstated by the Appellate Court. Today, I have been appointed to the State Bar of Texas, Texas Lawyers Assistance Program, and State Bar President Larry McDougal appointed me to the Presidential Task Force on the Texas Grievance System. Guess the bottom rail is on top now. Look up Former Judge Carmen Kelsey on any of the judicial rating sites, and you will learn way this was such an outrageous prosecution that should never happen again. I hope our Presidential Committee will change how professional conduct cases are handled. rsb

Texas Bar Application Process -- Character and Fitness

I have some minor criminal charges that occurred more than 10 years ago and was worried that I would be denied to sit for the Texas Bar. I sought help from Mr. Bennett and he immediately put me at ease and said not to worry "I will be there in the event you do receive a letter from the State Bar of T...exas." Mr. Bennett replied promptly to all my questions and even called me to make sure that we were both on the same page. I would 100% recommend Mr. Bennett for any Bar Application or License issues. I am glad I found him!!
