Proper Lawyering

I had just moved to Houston, was driving downtown, and accidentally turned the wrong way down a one way street. Subsequently, I was pulled over asked to take a breathalyzer test. As it was a no refusal weekend, I agreed, and unfortunately blew a 0.18. Mark was recommended to me as a lawyer who i...ntimately understood Texas' legal system and knew how to exercise shortcomings in State regulations. Mark intensively investigated my case and found inherent problems with the testing methodology utilized by Houston PD to obtain my breathalyzer test results. Ultimately, my case was dismissed. Mark was persistent, patient and extremely well informed. His dedication to his job and justice was second to none. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dismissed Dismissed!!

As like with most, I've been pulled over for speeding, etc., but nothing as serious as like being arrested for DWI, especially when I wasn’t even driving when it happened! So you can imagine that I was scared out of my mind and was a total nervous wreck because I had no idea what was going on. I h...ad just finished dinner with my best friend and her husband after being diagnosed with a serious illness. I had a couple of drinks at dinner not thinking of what the effect of the new medicine that I was just prescribed would have on me. Well, come to find out, it made me so sick that I had to pull into and park at an empty lot because I felt like I was going to vomit all over myself. As I parked my car and was opening the door to do so, there were cops pointing their flashlights at me. I’m sure you can pretty much figure out what happened afterwards. At any rate, I was referred to Mark by a really good friend of mine. When I met with Mark, he asked me what had happened so I went through everything with him, after which he told me to let him do what he is best at – fighting for his clients and what I should be expecting in the coming months. I was agonizing over the whole ordeal because I was told by many of my friends who had hire lawyers for similar situations not being able to contact their attorney and always being left out of the loop, etc. If you are an anxious person who is always worried about something (as an old friend of mine would always say I was), then Mark is your man! He was always available by phone, text, email and always responded to all of my questions quickly. To be honest, I was very shocked to hear back from him even when he was at his Jujutsu practice so promptly. At every court date, the DA kept telling Mark that they would not dismiss my case. And since I know that I did not do anything wrong other than pulling over to get off the road so I don’t hurt anyone while trying to keep from vomiting all over myself, I told Mark, after careful thought and consideration and with the faith in Mark's competence in the back of my head, I was not going to take a plea and told him I wanted to go to trial. He said, great, that’s what I’m best at. We had a few more court resets after that. Finally at my last court appearance, Mark came to me and said lets go talk outside, at which time, he told me that the DA had decided to dismiss my case. I totally believe it was Mark's persistence and his strong commitment to his clients that got my case dismissed! When all of this started, I was told that my first step was to hire a lawyer. I did my research and eventually narrowed down my choices to two lawyers, both of which were referred to me by very good and close friends. But given Mark’s track record of being one of the best DWI lawyers in Harris County, even though it was tough decision between my two close friends' referrals, I chose to go with him. He put me at ease from day one and even though I was still scared and skeptical throughout my case, he and his great assistant made me feel secure every time I talked to them. I have recommended Mark to all my friends and family. I hope they (nor I again) will ever need his services, but if we do, I have no doubt he will take care of us! I had been waiting on my ALR hearing and was just told that it was also dismissed!! Thank you Mark!

Motivation and Dedication

I was pulled over on my way home on January 23, 2011 for running a red light. I had a few drinks earlier that night which I admitted to. I was then arrested and charged with a DWI. At the station I was given a field sobriety test that was videotaped. Also I was given a breath test using the intoxilyz...er 5000. I blew a .169 and .172 (that’s over twice the legal limit). After plenty of research I found Mark Thiessen's name coming up more and more often. I went for a consultation and explained to him my story. I explained to Mr. Thiessen that my life and career depended solely on this judgment. After hearing that I was a disabled veteran, due to an injury that occurred while I was in Iraq, he stood up and shook my hand stating "You Fought For Me, Now Let Me Fight For You". Here it is December 6, 2011 and its my turn to write a review for Mr. Thiessen. I just finished my trial today. It was a long drawn out fight. The DA wouldn't throughout the case even though Mr.Thiessen showed them every hole in their case. The DA and the judge were completely against us, but Mark Thiessen only got more pissed off. Every witness that came to the stand was ripped apart by Mr. Thiessen. Not one moment went by that I saw him sweat. Then the moment came when he was about to tear their case apart. The DA ran to the judge with his tail between his legs and asked for a dismissal. They saw ahead of time Mr. Thiessen’s plan to shred their case and backed down. If it wasn’t for Mr.Thiessen's motivation and dedication to my case, I would have never won this case. He is not like normal lawyers. The first day he gave his cell number to call anytime, and while we were at the courthouse other lawyers wait in line to ask him a question in reference to their cases. Everywhere he went people (other lawyers) talk about him and how awesome he is in court. When leaving his office today I asked him if he remembered our first meeting (consultation) when I told him what kind of lawyer I’m looking for. I was looking for a lawyer that I needed to take to court with a chain and collar to hold him back from tearing the prosecutor apart. Now that I think about it, if I ever go to court with him again I’m bringing a bigger chain.

If you have the misfortune of getting in trouble you want Mark on your side

When I was arrested for a DWI I was scared out of my mind, having flashes of everything I have worked so hard for vanishing in an instant. I was referred to Mark by a good friend of mine and let me tell you from the first meeting I was not disappointed. Mark explained clearly what the plan was and ...what I could expect in the coming months. I was told by many of my friends who have been in similar situations the horror stories of not being able to contact your lawyer and being left out of the loop until minutes before court. If you are a worrier like me look no further than Mark, he is available by phone, text and email and always responded to any of my questions quickly. To be honest I was very shocked to hear back from him so promptly considering how busy his schedule is but he was always there when I had questions. Mark took very good care of me and once the case is over he still is there to help with any questions you may have. If you are in trouble you need some to fight for you, not just take the easy road out and move on to the next case. Look no further than Mark you will not be disappointed having him on your side.

Attorney Mark Thiessen

Mark is a remarkable attorney who works with his client diligently and listens to all my concerns. He worked on my case and gave me the confidence that I will get the best judgement in my favor. He never asked me to plead and take whatever the DAs offered. He kept fighting for me and eventually got m...y case dismissed. Mark has a very remarkable presence in the court room and he is very impressive in dealing with DAs. He has through knowledge of Texas Laws and he reviewed my case throughly and discussed all the possible options with me in details and based on the evidence reviewed by him, he told me that we will certainly have the best chance to win and we did. He gives so much personal attention to all the details and even answered my calls on the weekends when I contacted him on his cell phone. After first meeting and first court date I was sure that I got the best attorney representing my case. I will sure recommend Mark to anyone who needs help in Texas courts for criminal defense. He was always there for me on every court date on time. I have witnessed other attorneys in the court and Mark Thiessen stands out among them with his superior personality and his knowledge. He is the best you can find in Texas.
