Incompetent

Let me start by saying that I’ve made several mistakes in my life but none topped hiring this woman Karen L Baylor. When I showed up to court she was sitting and laughing with the opposing counsel. (Did not seem right) She also did not have formal attire lookIng nothing like a lawyer, extremely unpro...fessional. No effort in her appearance. I made sure to bring all the witness in my case and she refused to put any of them with the stand with the exception of one. (Makes me curious to know what she was laughing and giggling about with opposing counsel) Then after I got pummeled in court and loosing all contact with my son. I came to find out that this woman is on medication which I would assume contributes to her filthy language. Over all it was a complete embarrassment hiring this woman to defend me. Look else where for counsel she is just looking for an easy buck for minimum effort. She does not even have an office she out sources her receptionist or paralegal to appear as a full functioning law firm. DO NOT HIRE HER!

Baylor Family Law

Karen is the greatest lawyer. She is a shark and she does not ever give up. My x was not letting me have my time with my son and she got me way more time I I expected she also made it where he could not harass me anymore. My x was stupid enough to ginevme half of his pension for money he owed me. He ...lost his job and I was entitled to get it and refused to sign off on it. Karen took him to court and made him sign it . We also had her do our will and other things. She is in charge of our personal affairs. We trust her and even if we move to Houston, she still will be our advisor and attorney. We don’t mind traveling 300 miles if we to consult her

BUYER BEWARE!

Nobody at the office of Marx, Altman and Johnson will return calls. The girl who answers the phone says there is nobody in authority to speak to. It took Karen Baylor from July 2012 to December 2012 to get the original paperwork and injunction signed even though she gave the respondent a 10 day notic...e in July. Since she did't follow-through the first time the Judge made her give him a 10 day notice a second time in December. Her paperwork was incomplete unprofessional scribbled out hand written notes taken during a meeting that she actually faxed to the opposing attorney as an offer. When I complained and wrote a bad review on YELP she filed a motion to withdraw from my case. When I asked for my money back her boss, Crystal Sieber, took my case. According to the receptionist there was no boss but she must have been mistaken. Eventually I fired her but that is a separate review. I ended up representing myself in a contested divorce even though they drug the case out for a year and kept my money. I want to say BUYER BEWARE!

Excellent, professional and knowledgeable

I've used Karen on about 5 different issues since my divorce in 1999. All regarding different custody issues and support levels. In every situation, she kept me apprised of what was going on and also made sure I understood what was happening. A different (also excellent) attorney handled my divorc...e, but I found Karen to be much more reasonable that my original attorney. On top of that, she does not beat around the bush and tells you exactly what to expect. She has years of experience dealing with the various judges and understands how to get her point across without upsetting the judge. Getting in touch with any top quality attorney is not easy. I have had friends who got very upset when their attorneys did not immediately return phone calls, but considering that attorneys do spend much of their day in court, and then have to handle preparation for cases on 'their own time' (taking it away from their families and kids) I think Karen in much more available than most. When you're going through a traumatic time, and anything in family law is exactly that...traumatic, you want immediate response to your questions. That's the hardest thing for clients to remember. I first hired Karen in/about 2003 and she never let me down. And, since her firm is not a 'by the hour' firm, but a flat fee firm, you don't get nickeled and dimed to death. And you still get excellent representation.
