To be avoided!

I hired Mr. Swaim to help with my permanent residency application. Before signing the contract, he seemed polite and knowledgeable. However, AFTER HAVING SIGNED HIS CONTRACT when I needed to communicate with him, he was no longer available to talk to me directly, or the few times I could reach him he... was rude in his communication, and not much helpful. For my case, I needed someone who knows how to move in the immigration system, and truly gets involved to support my case. After realizing in what situation I got myself in, I decided to fire Mr. Swaim and get help from another lawyer who cared about my case, and designed a more complete strategy in case my application would not work out the first time. There are lawyers that are serious professionals, who care about what they are doing and the implications their actions or inactions may have, and know more pathways to achieve certain goals in immigration matters than Mr. Swaim does.Stay away from Mr. Swaim. There are many well prepared and professional lawyers, who are also more knowledgeable.

I am very sorry to read about your experience with Tidwell, Swaim. For over 38 years we have worked extremely hard to make sure every client feels like they are the only client we have. If these facts are true we clearly did not meet this goal in your case. However, I must note that we have no record of a case like this. And we have no record of a client named Douglass, although I realize the reviewer may have chosen to keep his/her name confidential. Finally, I would certainly be willing to discuss these issues if Douglass decides to contact me. Even one client who is not completely satisfied with our services is one too many.

Simple questions with few answers

David Swaim Jr., need a serious customer service training, he lost his grip several times over a simple questions that we need a simple yes and no answers. And when he answer a question he answer them with phrases like and I quote "I believe we have reached a point where the tail has been wagging the... donkey for too long" he was rude and un professional. When we needed him the most he answer with I already told you that the first day we meet, as if I remember everything that we talk 5 months ago, we are normal customers with simple questions and we are NOT attorneys or we didn't study immigration law to know everything. I didn't understand his bad attitude. I hope he can review his work and make changes for future customers that seriously I DON'T recommended to anyone.

Since AVVO does not provide names for anyone who writes these reviews, it is difficult to respond to these allegations. Everyone in our firm treats client service as our number goal, especially myself since my name is on the business. We cannot determine who this person is or what actually happened. I can assure everyone who reads this that I have never referred to a "tail wagging a donkey", nor its more customary US term, a tail wagging a dog. David Swaim

Save your time and money!

I would not be able to express how upset I feel about this man in this simple review. He has absolutely no patience, which makes it hard to imagine how he continues to practice law in the first place since people go to him for comfort and advice. Our first meeting was rushed because he insisted that ...the package he would give us would have a detailed list of things we were suppose to gather. This list took me 3 months to complete, during that time I emailed him asking for various questions I had come up with after reading the package he had giving me. He's response was to just drop of the package at his front desk. Even though I was not happy with the limited attention he showed, I decided to continue my pursuit for his help because I understood that his schedule was probably super hectic, after all he is a lawyer. Once I had finally finished completing all the forms in his list and had gathered completely all the money his assistance required, I went to the office to "drop off" the package. Thinking this would be a great opportunity to ask him a simple question in person, after he ignored me via internet I asked the receptionist if she could kindle ask Swain to speak to me for 5 seconds because I needed to ask him a quick question. As she did, to later come back to me and tell me that there was no need to fill out everything. At this point I wasn't as concerned to fill out the papers as I was to get some interaction/ answer from Swain himself, and I insisted her to speak to him because I did not feel comfortable leaving without getting to speak to him. I explained that I had tried to email him and I did not want to miss the opportunity to have him a few feet away. I think she understood my persistence, and went on back to talk to him. Once he came out, Swain was irritated and came to me asking "what the problem was." I told him that I just needed to ask him a simple question. I honestly just needed to feel like all the money I would pay would pay for some assurance and attention from him. He was so rude and impatient, he could have been begging me to stop bothering him with my case. I am not sure how he could work for anyone. He never answered any of my questions... I strongly advice anyone to go to someone else because you would just end up bothering him. Your money could be used for someone who cares and explains everything you need to know.

Everyone in our firm has attempted to identify this client without success. Since no one recalls any of these events, nor have we represented a client which matches this profile, it is impossible to respond to these mysterious allegations.
