I have been meaning to write in about my experience with Tracey Wood and Associates since last August when she handled our appeal. Happily I have been too busy reconnecting with my husband who had been wrongfully convicted of a crime and served almost 3 years in prison. When other people hear our s...tory they cannot believe how we got into a situation where my husband, a man from a good neighborhood, pillar in the community and church would end up with a 16 year sentence for a crime he did not commit. So when it was time for the appeal we really did our homework. We came to Tracey because of her reputation as one, if not THE best in the state on appeals, and we are so glad we did. She did not just tell us things we wanted to hear to appease us, but rather critically analyzed each aspect of our case to look for the best elements to build our grounds for appeal. Tracey Wood was my lawyer on a 3rd OWI charge in Green County. Before I even hired her, she was very helpful in outlining my options and some of the possible outcomes for my case. It was not looking good for me, and I was almost positive I would go to jail. I found out that a 3rd OWI conviction comes... with guaranteed jail time. But as it turns out, there were legal issues with the stop where I was arrested. The cops did not have probable cause to arrest me, so the OWI got lowered to a smaller charge.
