My Superhero

On March 6th 2016 I was charged with OWI 3rd offense, operating after revocation and first time controlled substance charges stemming from a traffic stop in Marshfield. I initially hired Jared Redfield out of Stevens Point who ended up being buddies with the prosecuting attorney in my case. I fired R...edfield after he helped his former co-worker out at my Preliminary hearing then I immediately retained Mr. Bayer. John Bayer personally sat down with me on a Saturday to relieve some of my stress and we reviewed the squad car DVD s and police reports together. John Bayer typed notes through this entire process preparing his defense. Mr. Bayer taught me many things that day and sent me home feeling hopeful. Immediately after Mr. Bayer received the rest of the discovery from the state he introduced a motion to "suppress evidence derived from unlawful stop and unlawful search of vehicle". In the motion John cited awesome case law which pertained to my case. After researching each of the cases that he cited, I knew I had hired a brilliant and smart attorney whose actually going to fight for me. In the motion John challenged Officer Caleb Bornbach's probable cause for the traffic stop and found all the discrepancies between the lying officers statement versus what actually took place in the videos. Shortly after John introduced his motion, the court scheduled a motion hearing. The Friday before John was about to make the Marshfield Police look like incompetent liars, the prosecuting attorney kept calling him with plea bargains. After I refused the DA's offer twice John called again and told me "the DA will dismiss everything including the OWI if you plea to operating after revocation." John found a defense for every single charge except OAR which I admitted to and which was unavoidable. The case had been pending for over a year so Instead of proceeding with a motion hearing I took the sweet plea that this man fought for. John will never actually know what he did for me and how grateful I actually am. Had I got convicted of this OWI for the low amount of THC in my blood, I would have lost my license for several more years. I'm proud to say that I haven't smoked marijuana since this day and after the case closed I was immediately eligible for my occupational license after not driving for 3 years. Because of John I feel pride when I legally pick up my only infant daughter from day care. I took a gamble hiring John and from the bottom of my heart, he is the best thing vie ever paid for with my tax dollars. If I could have someone on my team for the rest of my life, it would be John.

Honest and straightforward

John was very honest and straightforward with what he thought the court would do with my OWI second offense. He didn't lie and tell me what I wanted to hear just so that I would hire him. I received the minimum charges, and even got house arrest which was rare for this judge. John made sure I knew wh...at was going on throughout the whole process and I would recommend him.

Life saver!

I was in a very tough situation i had an OWI 2nd and failed the blood test along with admitting to smoking thc. I was in about the worst situation you could be in considering i pretty much admitted to guilt and most lawyers would have seen that as an impossible case to win. John Bayer walked me throu...gh everything and i didnt have to do a thing. Mr Bayer negotiated with the prosecuter and got my owi 2nd dropped along with getting my test results dismissed! I did not think that was even a possibility my ccase was as smooth as any could be and you cannot go wrong with John Bayer i see it as anybodys best chance at winning their case if you need profesional representation and somebody that cares and is passionate about there work i highly recomend John Bayer he knows his job well and is very kind i owe him my gratitude.

1st dui

When I was charged with my first dui I didn't know where to start. I was told to call John Bayer from some friends and see what he had to say. I had never been in other kind of trouble so didn't know much about lawyers and the steps to take. John talked me through what was gonna happen and explained... everything to me which put my mind more at ease. I hired him right away and he set it up so I wouldn't lose my cdl since I'm self employed and travel. Throughout the process he kept me informed and advised on what different ways we could go about challenging the ticket. All said and done the dui ticket was reduced to a reckless driving and couldn't be happier. From the first phone call to the last John was very professional and easy to talk to. If you're looking for great dui lawyer I'd highly recommend John Bayer.

OWI 4th

One word to sum up John "AWESOME". I had quite a complicated case. I have a seizure disorder and the police found me up on a curb because I had a seizure. I was going through post epileptic shock while the police were trying to give me a field sobriety test. I couldn't even stand on my own. The polic...e took a sample of my blood while I was still incoherent, I could only scribble my name and had no idea what I was signing. Several months later I received a letter from the police stating they were going to charge me with an OWI 4th because of my prescription meds found in my system along with cough medicine. John filed several motions through out the course of my case all which were very well written and easy to understand. John worked tirelessly on my case and was always available to talk to if I needed him for anything. Through out my case I noticed how some of the other attorneys talked down to their clients some even yelling at them. This was not John at all. He truly was sincere and cared about me as a person and was determined to get me off of my OWI charge. We were able to get the blood evidence suppressed through a motion and we new then it was only a matter of time until the prosecution would make an offer or drop the charges, they knew I had a seizure and for some reason kept on trying to pursue a conviction, but by us winning the motion to suppress the blood evidence they had nothing to go on. A couple weeks later they made an offer to drop the OWI 4th and charge me with reckless driving instead which was a $200 fine and 6 points off my license but no jail time. I can't promise the same outcome for other cases, but I can promise you that John will work tirelessly on your case to get you the best outcome possible.
